I'm hoping for a honest, hardworking & battling display, similar to that at the Ricoh a couple of weeks ago.

IF, and I mean IF we manage to claim all three points then surely of slim chance of a play off push would be back on?!

We all know we are good enough, on our day! Which the same goes for most teams in L1, hence why we are all in this division to begin with!

Better get a move on......got a train to catch! Come on Vale

A shocking defence with no leader and a forward line in which our main guy, Pope, is average at best in this league, and also well out of form. When are people going to stop living with their head in the clouds and finally quit mentioning the play-offs?

The logic in me says that Vale will win at Sheffield today 2-1...after all, they lose silly matches then go and achieve the seemingly impossible...and now the Play offs are out of reach and their contracts are at risk watch the players play out of their skins today.

Off to the game today but expecting a heavy defeat. The team have given up the ghost. The remaining games will be tortuous as 85% of this lot are already planning to leave or are waiting for us to kick them out. Play Andoh, Campion, James and O'Sullivan. Dig up my grandma and she can play centre half. Any idea for full backs?

Sheffield U. don't usually score many goals per game. They have only scored 50 up to now. That is only tree more than the Vale, but playing against a leaky/useless defence may improve their tally today.

I can't envisage how Page can improve the Vale defence, or know which players he will choose, but if the defence can be tightened,(very much), there is a chance that Sheffield will not score, or only score one or two. This could give the Vale a chance, depending on which strikers Page chooses.

We need a win today to keep some interest in the season. Two wins on the bounce would now do nicely.

If we could be pretty close to the play-offs, with the weather due to pick up over Easter we'd have a chance of getting over 3,500 next home game.

That's a bit depressing, although the next home game is a Friday night against Colchester. They will bring a handful more than Crawley but Vale fans won't have so many excuses for not turning up (no European games on TV?).

If we do get a good result today and, perhaps come away with points from Orient next Saturday, Smurf should try and create some sort of an incentive for casual fans to attend the next home game - a free pie and pint or something.

After that, we've got MK and Preston at home, so two attractive fixtures to pack the park.

I'm going for a 3-2 win today for the Vale, with Pope and Dodds to be on the scoresheet.
