After pointing out to a stoke fan that vale took over 6000 to aston villa a few years back compared to the pathetic 2000 they took yesterday,i wondered how many times last year and the year before did we take 2000 away supporters to a game?

Not sure how many tickets they had though mate. To be fair cup games are different as the home side has to give the away team 15% of capacity whereas Prem League away allocations are shockingly low. I think even Liverpool only allow around 2000 away fans. Also to be fair to Stoke they took over a thousand to Arsenal for a game on Sky, over 3000 to Leicester and wanted 7000 tickets for Blackburn but were refused on Police advice.

Another point, Villa to them is just a poor, run of the mill fixture, bit like us playing Barnsley where we didnt take 2000 lol

Wycombe I'd say was certaiy over 2000. Obviously there's Crewe. Can't really think off hand any other big away followings. Sheffield Utd in the cup was a big one too.

Didn't we take 2000 to Macclesfield? They were forced to open the side stand to allow the fans who were queuing in.

We took quite a few to Gills as well in the promotion season, certainly about 5 or 6 times more than we normally do. Superb day.

Remember taking over 9000 to Villa, then watching us lose 6-0.

We can only manage take 700plus to Walsall. And I was 1 of them. Surely we should be taking over 1k to the "closer" games??I hate Stoke with a passion, but 1 thing they've always seem to have is a good away followings..

Stoke's away following is up and down depending on how they're doing, just like us and every other team. They tool 1000 to City earlier this season and they've taken 1400 to Man U before. Both are shocking followings for a club their size in the prem.

 

Us on the other hand, 700 to Walsall, 300 to Barnsley, the season we went up we took 300 to Cheltenham. All shocking followings.

 

To answer the op though, in the last few years we've taken over 2k to; Crewe, Wolves, Chesterfield, Burton, Rochdale, Wycombe, Bury, Sheff U (FA Cup)...plus plenty over 1k. For a club our size with our home support, the away followings we take on occasion is brilliant.

 

Cheshire Valiant, we took about 750 to Gills the season we went up. Took a similar number to Barnet too. Great support for such long distances, especially Gills.

Oh the following we had in the 90s.We were talking yesterday about the 7000 we took to Blackburn in the cup.4000 to Newcastle United ( more than go to Newcastle Town).8000 to Anfield who,I was assured by a Dippers fan ,were the best and loudest following there that season.3000 sellout at Highbury.Thousands to Wolves,Birmingham,West Brom and Man City not forgetting Everton and Man.Utd.Great days ,great support.
