Give them a chance. They might not want to push it until after the Doncaster game and ensure as many turn up for that match as possible. Quite why the football league continue to pair league fixtures on the same nights as Champions League matches i don't know.

 

Because there are that many I suppose. Would we be better if swapping to Wednesday's so that we avoid clad with ITV? When coverage moves to BT Sport people will have 1 less excuse.

The criticism of the lack of publicity is a bit unfair. There's still two weeks until the Oldham game. Now if in seven days there's no publicity, that's a different matter.

The marketing department could very easily contact Rob F and I'm sure that he would be happy to promote this offer,or any other offer that the club would like to promote.It would be simple to do and not take very long to do.

You need to be careful promoting a cut price event before a full price match on Saturday. People could easily pick to go 2 for £30 instead of the full price on Saturday. Marketing this from Saturday is the right thing to do.

 

So why advertise it in the club shop?

I don't suppose it may be all over the scoreboard on Saturday or in Saturday's programme.Get yourselves up there so you can see the ads.

 

Trouble is if you only advertise it on the scoreboard you are only telling the fans who would be coming anyway, so the club would actually be losing money.

It needs to be in the sentinel, radio Stoke and some billboards outside the ground, even the pubs around Boslem, basically everywhere.

Going back to the 1st post of the thread I'm inclined to the thinking that once the decision was taken it was immediately communicated to the staff whilst, at the same time, media notifications were been organised ergo a fellow Valiant calling into the 'Club Shop would be the first to hear about the good news offer.

I don't think it will affect this Saturday's game myself, the Oldham game though is sandwiched between two good away day games at Notts C and Coventry which is where a lot of the floaters may spend their dosh.

 

Slightly off topic bon ami, but every time I see you post in a Notts. County thread I'm immediately taken back to the time you and Bede went to Meadow Lane and shared your epic story with OVF - now a classic OVF poem called Fifteen Pints and a Pastie :D
