And this is one of my issues - they only need to say they have intelligence on something and it gives them carte-blanche to do what they want.

 

If this "information" is about two groups planning a dust-up, why not shadow them and pre-empt any bother?

 

Just how hard is it to suss out these plonkers anyway - they're unlikely to arrive by helicopter or armoured tank, and they are unlikely to travel via an unpredictable route.

 

When the police intercept planned acts of terrorism etc, they release details after the arrests of what was being planned.

 

I wonder if they will say afterwards what was on the cards for Saturday? Rocket launchers and lone-wolf strikes, or two groups of muppets street-dancing?

Perhaps it's my cautious nature, but I would rather see safety secured before we start talking about any possibility of a top 6 finish.

 

Technically, they're the same thing it just depends on your disposition! I think the expression "just keep keeping on" and the usual cliched "one game at a time" covers all bases

Interesting line from the Police statement: Now once again Norman is telling me that finances are exceptionally tight and that games like the one on Saturday do not bring in enough money to cover the cost of policing.
