the guy selling lottery tickets I think was named Mick, and Normal if he was a steward was Norman, he was "retired" for alledgedly touching a womans **** at a away game at cwho...

 

Mick still comes, he is a season ticket holder. A couple of years ago Normal was living in Chell Heath, but not seem him at Vale for ages. The Crewe story about him is correct.

Remember lots of these characters the lads in the bug, the lottery ticket salesman , think he lives on high lane, humph who attacked mellor, he still goes vale, harry was the man who used put the half time scores up in the early 70s, I started going vale in 67 and still see so many characters who are older than me who attend, like the song says , we are vale till we die

I always remember Jock who used to come dressed as rab c nesbit, i played football with him for a few yews for shelton bar he was an absolute fruitloop!!! one game he brought a massive inflatable hammer into the bycars and kept walking up and down the middle boshing people on the head with it!! loved a guiness or 7

Oh Bezza, i remember that cos i was there, Vale v Pompey and mellor bought down a vale player in the box a clear peno, but i cant remember if no peno was given or it was and it was missed, then Humph climbed up the front of the Bycars wall , over the barrier onto the pitch and started grapling with the goal keeper, mellor ! Mellor knew he got away with that peno, and good on Humph, real entertainment at its best, in the days when the thing to do was take the home fans end for bragging rights, them were the days Beza.

No Bill used to work as a mechanic at Johnny Alcocks garage in Biddulph for many years.

 

I thought the guy was Bill Cope,ex-player, who doubled up on the coaching side too
