Even when he's in position he messes up! He's woeful and clearly our weakest player. He wasn't exactly great last season either yet some on here thought he was quality, just because of his passion. Rubbish player play anyone else at left back.

Every time the ball comes into our box we look vulnerable. Especially to a high ball. Granted we could do more to stop the cross initially but when it does come in no-one is big and strong enough to head the ball into row Z. The centre backs are powder puff, far too lightweight. Their second goal tonight was so bad it was comical.

... and back to the Title ... Reme signs for a Month !!!!! How many more days are going to pass us by when he cannot dislodge any of the current incompetant bungling baffoons we have at the back ? Reme came and there was great expectation but like Adams before him, Page is sticking to the old rear guard. If Page sticks his Vale carear on the vain hope that those back 4 are suddenly going to wake up and see the light then he is not the man for us - that back 4 have been loved long enough by the management and they need kicking into shape, or kicking out of the club . You cannot build a successful club on incompetence. Throw REME in on saturday and see how he does - if he is not an improvement then send him back. Which current defender to drop - put all names in a hat and just pick one - because not one of them could complain

Ridiculous that he hasn't played any part for us yet. If we were on some sort of winning streak you could perhaps understand it more as a lot of people would be unwilling to change a winning side, but that's not the case. No doubt he'll end up going to some other club once his spell is over with us and their fans will be raving about his performances. :rolleyes:

Perhaps we should follow Shrewsbury's example. They signed Grimmer on a month's loan this week, put him into the first team straight away last night, and kept a clean sheet in a 5-0 win against Bury, and Bury were second in the table. We won't know how good, or bad, Streete is unless we play him. So come on Page, do the sensible and obvious thing.

Given Newcastles team selection tonight I wonder if pardew would have picked Streete? We'll never know, but let's hope he starts come Saturday

I said last night after that game that Dummett's performance at centre half may well have increased Vale's chances of keeping Streete when his month runs out. It will be interesting to see if Newcastle allow him to be cup-tied.

Incidentally, in the last two years, only THREE teams have beaten Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium by TWO or more clear goals. Those three teams are Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United!
