I'm personally pleased that Birchall is staying for another year. he is a versatile player who does have some quality on the ball. On several occasions last season, he definitely brought something different to the game. I cant think of too many games where he has "let us down", and for a squad player who has had to come off the bench plenty of times, then that is a good thing. With Griff moved on, maybe a different style of play would also suit him better.

Neal and Lines are especially great news and Birchall is well worthy of a squad role. Personally and I know it won't be popular on here but I aren't too fussed about Loft now because I don't think that he and Lines compliment each other so well as they both like the central role. Also Loft is on 'big bucks' and so this money could be better spent elsewhere.

Chuffed about Neal a super keeper and well capable of playing at a higher level.
