He needs games somewhere as I assume he would like to play for at least another season in football. The budget is a factor too, as is the development of our young strikers. So could go.

I would suspect he's one of the highest, if not the highest wage. If he was to leave I would imagine those wages would allow us not only to offer Hugill a decent professional contract but perhaps bring in another defender too. If so, I'd be happy for him to leave although I would also imagine he's very useful for a youngster like Hugill to learn from on the training pitch. If he stays, I very much doubt he'll be with us next season - especially as Vale appear to have more than enough options upfront right now...

In November, Hughes was told by Adams to find another club to go on loan to. This was the Tuesday before the window closed on the Thursday if memory serves and Hughes was not able to sort a deal out in time.

There are + and - points which ever way it goes... if he stays the budget doesnt alter but the yung uns get his influence/experience and he may play a vital role towards the end of the season... if he goes we free up some cash but we lose the latter

The only way he'd move is if we paid up some of his contract. Nobody is going to pay him what we've been doing.

If, as some people say, he's on 4k a week, then we'd have to offer him the equivalent of 2k a week for the remainder of his contract to free up the other 2k.

Jan will be a big month for the Club.

 

No-one would have expected us to be where we are and if the Chairman had any money at all he may have considered investing it in some more quality to push for a play-off spot.

 

Perhaps we have surprised even those within the Club!!

He's getting towards the end of his career and he will want more first team football than he's currently getting.

 

It's difficult for him to nail down a regular place at the minute. He's either a sub or if he starts, he can't last much longer than an hour. I don't remember him ever playing a full 90 minutes for us.

 

I like his professional attitude and the goals he's weighed in with since he joined us, but he's a bit of an expensive luxury now.
