Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery to Micky. It doesn't say whether it is a hip replacement, but if it is, he will probably be in hospital 4 or 5 days all being well. They get you out of bed the next day now, and want you to go home asap.

I hope he is back with us soon, but that he takes care to invest a full and proper recovery.

My brother in law had a hip replacement and as you say they had him out out of bed the next day.He was back at work in his office in about 2 months.

 

Hope Mickys op goes well and has a quick recovery.In the mean time good luck to Rob Page in his temp role.

Like otheers I am delighted its him over Grew, think it was by far and away the most sensible decision :)

 

Maybe I am reading too much into this but didn't Micky say he hoped to have the surgery on a Monday and then be back for the Saturday game recently. Either the surgeon has told him thats impractical or maybe this is the beginning of the end for his relationship with the club. I do hope its the former rather than the latter after the good he has done for our club.

 

I don't think this has anything to do with that personally and I wish Adams well with his hip operation,however what I do hope for is that the team do well under Page so when the time does arise he will be the successor to Adams.

Port Vale Football Club has announced that Manager Micky Adams will temporarily step down from his duties to undergo hip surgery following Vale’s 3-2 victory over Coventry City.

 

In the meantime Robert Page will take over first-team duties, assisted by Assistant Manager Mark Grew.

 

Micky Adams said: “I am having surgery on my hip next week, this needs to be done to ensure my long-term health.

 

“It is great that I am going into this surgery with a win and a great performance under our belts and I am looking forward to returning to the dugout as soon as possible.

 

“In the meantime Rob Page will take over and will be assisted by Mark Grew and I have every confidence that they will help Vale continue on from this great win today.”

What a snidey, ridiculous, gutless, nasty and underhand way to try and get at our manager when he makes substitutions that work.

 

He readily has admitted that sometimes he gets the team wrong, so it doesn't need you or your kind to post things like this. Go and stand in the bin in the corner until the end of the season.

No, you are not being unfair to OVF because there is no single OVF voice, just as 'the fans' don't exist as a single unit. That's easy to see with the vitriol between supporters of the same club.

I'd guess far more OVF posters want MA to return fit and well and lead us onwards and upwards and the few you mention really are a few, even if they are very vocal.
