Who would have thought that to day was the final of the finest football cup competition in the world.

 

The competition has been prostituted by the premier league and ruined, what was a fantastic day for all supporters has turned out into just another game.

Correct blackdog,a lot of the world stopped what they were doing just to watch this match.Not the same magic day but I hope we see a good match.3-2 for Wigan.:D

I used to watch the FA Cup Final every year, whoever was playing and wherever I was. Watched the first one in 1959 Notts Forest against Luton Town. Saw the 1990 final in Melbourne Australia at 2am in the morning, only for it to finish 3-3 after extra time. I then saw the replay 5 days later in a hotel room in Singapore.

 

I've lost a bit of interest of late, especially since it is no longer the climax to the season. That was the key thing, plus the fact that literally the whole world was watching. The occasion was just so full of tradition. "The Road To Wembley" early in the day, the Community Singing and Military Bands playing. It was a great British ceremony.

 

I might switch on today, but I bet you that Fox Soccer Channel don't broadcast the singing of Abide With Me.
