Sitting in the home end at away games.

Right, firstly this isn't some knuckle headed plot to 'take their end'.

I don't live near Burslem and therefore it's not likely that I'll be able to get hold of a ticket or get in the away end. I'm not sure how many ticketless Vale fans will be heading up to Spotland but if you are, where will you be sitting? I intend finding a sparsely populated corner, sitting on my hands and doing my utmost not to cheer although how easy this will actually be to do remains to be seen.

Anyway, anyone here having to do the same? Thoughts?

Done it stacks of times. Only a divvy can go wrong.

Use your common sense and even if you are sussed out, if you're not playing up you are most unlikely to get any grief.

We're talking Rochdale v Port Vale, not West Ham v Millwall.

Same her. Gone many a time to sit in away seats and if you don't get up and wave your Smurf or Pope hat like a demented idiot, then you should be ok!!:D After all this is only Rochdale and they will only have about 2,000 of their fans in total in all their ends.

Did it at Ninian Park Cardiff's old ground years ago, but honestly cannot remember why. Although we soon got escorted to the away end anyway.

Your brave mate, going in the home end at Ninian, they were Psychos down there.

Scariest moment was the 3-3 draw at Wolves in 1988, I was on the South Bank and Vale went 3-1 up without a smile on my face, but when Bull equalised in the last minute pandemonium broke out, I had to pretend moments of joy to blend in. Just be sensible, difficult to keep a straight face sometimes, depends on the location.

I did it once at Leicester City at the old Filbert Street.

Went in the double deck stand, on my own, behind one of the goals - packed with home fans - and managed to keep my cool until John McCarthy hit the equaliser. Then about 100 pairs of eyes turned to look at me.

I admitted I was a Vale fan and was asked 'so why you in here then?' I said 'I live here' (as I did; lived in Syston). Stony silence. No more trouble though and I even managed to get a bit of banter going with the people sat next to me.

Did it at Arsenal the old Highbury for the FA Cup game in 1998, we were iffing and arring whether to go and I think we sold our allocation. My Dad had a work colleague at the time who was an Arsenal ST holder(I believe they must have sold FA Cup 3rd round games as part of there STs at the time) and couldn't go as he was on holiday. So we had a couple of free tickets, I remember half jumping up to celebrate when Naylor had his goal disallowed then remembering where I was! Luckily the chaps mate who was sat next to us knew we were Vale fans and wasn't bothered and no one else noticed!
