So jones then?? Because Taylor played left didn't he? Jones was a lot better than Taylor today.. Not moaning as I'm still celebrating I was just making the point Taylor didn't want it as much as the others did today..

 

Jones and McCombe were poor defensively today but fortunately there were a number of matchwinning performances elsewhere.

Tom Pope will get all the headlines and deservedly so but I though Adam Yates was absolutely brilliant today.

 

There were some idiots in the Lorne Street giving Yates stick and shouting for him to sit in the stand. I despair with some people. Yates never put a foot wrong all game and has not let the team down this season.

IMHO, its horses for courses and depends on the opposition who plays with Pope up front and don't forget Dodds partnering the pontiff. If Vale play one striker up front it has to be Tom Pope not Hughes, as has been suggested on OVF. If Pope does play on his own up front then Dodds is the player to play behind him.

 

If Hughes has a hammy, as has been suggested, then we shouldn't see him partnering Tom for the rest of the season.

Apparently Neal shook everyone's hand before the match started apart from Pope's? They then had the obvious fracas after the second goal.

 

All very odd.

Popeys put it to bed in his interview in my opinion.

Said they are good mates and even joked about Chris making him a brew!
