OVF Royal Family

JOHNNYAITCH

Recommended Posts

On a separate thread ROBF was referred to by Bobbymanc as the king of OVF. Personally I think he's more of an emperor presiding over his OVF empire;) But for these purposes we'll stick with him being king of the OVF royal family

I see myself as a sort of distant cousin that would (should?) normally be hidden way in some tower somewhere

I wonder who is the Queen of OFV? The princes, princesses, who is the Duke of Edinburgh of ovf(Warren?)? The pretender to the crown? The next in line? The Oliver Cromwell of OVF etc etc

I may be a descendant of Henry VIII....

Im not tall enough for my rotund frame and Im with my 4th wife [having considered beheading a couple of previous ones] so probably a distant relative who is kept as far away as possible..... the one who is a little too blunt to be near the front line at photograph opportunities.

As a socialist and republican I refuse to take part in this debate, other than to note down the names of those who equate themselves with royalty. Then, come the revolution, and in my new role as democratic anti-feudal tyrant (D.A.F.T) I shall seek them out and chop off their heads.

Is that a candidate for our Cromwell?

In my life I have come a cross a lot of people who I have underestimated in terms of capability. Most are women, but I would suggest the Duke of Edinburgh is one. When his outputs are measurable he can be seen to have been a brave and intelligent man during the war. For most of his life behind the scenes he has supported / directed the Queen (with one of two mistakes maybe) to become probably one of the most successful achievers in public relations, passive diplomacy and passive governance of all time. His directness is a pleasant relief in a time when say we listen to Clegg, Miliband and Cameron and have to do five minutes thinking to weigh up their agenda with everything they say.

Well now, I see the Queen as someone who sits in the background watching her subects and making sure they behave, in public at least. She doesn't say much but heaven help the subject who refuses to listen to her advice. She's been known to ban them from court until they learn the error of their ways.

She's a good listener and gives all sorts of advice to her subjects who write to her on many occassions wanting advice on weddings, illness and even their sex life!

She's even been known to tell her Parliament that what they're doing isn't the way ....she's on good terms with the King but she doesn't hesitate to tell him if she thinks he's in the wrong.

Considering all the above, i'd like to nominate myself as Queen. :D

The royal family are a tourist attraction and were born into the role. There is no success there at all, and no governance to speak of. But thank god the queen has a man to direct her.

A candidate for the role of Morrissey re the OVF Royal Family?

Or another candidate for Cromwell or maybe more of a Thomas Fairfax?
