Impostors at Vale Park

valetillidie67,

Firstly he has achieved something, he has improved our league placing, compared to other recent managers.

Secondly we are still in the top three and it's March.

Thirdly he must have tactical knowledge to have us second in the league and win promotion with three other clubs.

At this time of the season pressures on those clubs seeking promotion build and there will be plenty of shock results.

Hopefully Adams can keep the players calm and get us over the winning line.

Comparing him to Sinnott, glover and Gannon is not a measure of success or achievement. The other points will be valid at the end of the season.

Yes I'm afraid it does make it irrational. It's a knee jerk reaction to the short term picture, failing to consider where we currently are over a season and the inevitablity of periods of good and bad form.

Your argument about Micky's tactics is also flawed. Simply look at the table, and for every poor home result look at the fantastic away results. A lot of those home results came after brilliant away wins where you'd be mad to change your tactics. This is League 2, teams are inconsistent, but thanks to Micky and the team, we are one of the most consistent. If you disagree, see league table.

Last 6 games puts us in 21st....

Will people stop calling this a blip! A blip is when you lose a bit of form for a couple of matches or get beaten unluckily a few times whilst still playing well.

We've played very poorly for 6 matches now, scored 2 goals and picked up a mammoth 5 points. Regardless of where we are in the league this is shockingly poor. I'd be tearing my hair out (if I had any) with these performances even if we were in a relegation dogfight! This is not a blip, it is far more fundamental than that. It matters not one iota how we played in September or where we are in the division as teams are time and again turning up and outclassing us.

Pick the best players for the job of getting promoted Micky and stop being a hypocritical stubborn prat!

Nick,

It would be great if we averaged well over 6,000 never mind 5,000 and of course I agree for the current financial year gates of 4,000 will not leave the club in the black.

However, on the basis that the new owners have said they are in it for the long run then in the short term do we really want to hear boos around Vale Park?

And before Tim jumps on me and says I'm blaming the fans for our current form I am not - current form is not good enough to get us promoted.

However fans do not pick the team and the only influence we can have is in, literally, supporting the players to try and boost their confidence.

Lets hope tomorrow the crowd does it's bit and the players do their's - and the Manager gets some credit from seeing vale top of the league hopefully.

Dont you think that current form is a better indicator of how we will perform in the next 10 games than our form last September?

I hope to Cliff it doesnt turn out that way but if it does all hell will break loose.

Depends.

We are an attacking team that thrives on wingers who are flying up and down creating space and chances. During the last 6 games we have played on pitches that are like Sunday league standard and not conducive to free flowing attacking play.

During the next 10 games one would assume that the pitches will harden up and be easier to play free flowing attacking football on with the ball on the floor at all times. When we pass on the floor and move quickly no team can cope with our movement. I think the early season form on hard pitches will be replicated once the pitches allow. The sooner the better!

However. Micky could have done better when it comes to a plan B for playing on the Sunday league pitches we have had to cope with since Nov/Dec. Also, our groundsman should hang his head in shame. The pitch at Vale is awful and hasn't helped us at all.

Why do you think the pitches will harden up?. The weather is warming up, they've been played on more, we can expect just as much rain. Can't understand that theory???

Harden up probably the wrong choice of words. The theory is based on the pitches been more suitable for our style of play over the next 10 games than it has been through the worst of the winter.

I don't know why you just picked out that bit of the post though and didn't bother with the main point, which is that our style of football will be easier to play on spring pitches than it has been on the winter pitches.

Who was there during the Glover reign? Blooming Danny Glover upfront every week and Ross Davidson in midfield. That team deserved booing.

This team that Micky has assembled for NOTHING deserves applauding every week because we're out performing. How many of you would of been happy with the playoffs at the start of the season after just coming out of administration? Jesus, puts it into perspective that we've been in the top 2 for most of the season yet our team is still generating abuse from the stands. How does that work exactly?

Cheer the lads on. Every successful pass, every tackle won, every chance created. This is League 2 football, we're going to have a bad run more than teams in other leagues, that's just the way it is. But, at the end of the day, we've scored the most goals in the league and we've got one of the hottest strikers in English football right now. So lets count our blessings and sing our hearts out tomorrow! For we are Vale and we are proud!!

Pitch is the same for everyone if it slows the winger it slows the defender, your criticism of Speedy is out of order and deserves an apology
