I like boom, he is limited however, thats why he is in L2, if he did make sure he got first to the ball in our area he would be far better though

Davis has got to be given another chance at some time and that time is now. As long as he keeps it simple he'll be fine. Everytime he's got in trouble or sent off its when he's tried to be too clever. He looked good when he came on at Burton and has nothing to fear in Akinfenwa.

I like Davis. He's going to be a great CB. I think Adams has to pick and choose when he plays him though. Mcdonald, boom or Owen against the man mountains and Davis against the quicker forwards for me. I think he has to play more this season to get better. I appreciate big Mac has had a good season so far but like I say against the quicker forwards I'd like to see Young Davis on the pitch.

McDonald has come in and done very well. He is a little slow on acceleration although not slow when he gets going. He wins nearly everything in the air, does as well as anyone blocking and tackling and he is tidy on the ball. Owen is good blocker but weaker at most other aspects and there is no basis for him to complain about being left out. He could come in an be motivated to show his best, but in my opinion he loses way too much in the air and his distribution is limited. Davis is not physically ready yet perhaps, but he is a footballer of promise and future and I would give him a chance.

 

If Duffy was better regarded at centre half than full back then Yates in and him to centre back is an option and quite a few people have called for him to play there.

 

Owen represents the players and clubd well, but football is a sport and that is what calls the shots in the end.

Akinfenwa is a smart penalty box finisher. He can't be handled when the ball comes to feet in the box. Vale must try not to give away free kicks and we need to get him away from goal by holding a decently high line. That calls for someone with reasonable pace in case the ball goes in behind.
