Got to be Owen

My head says Owen, but I was impressed with Davis last night, a block and pin point long pass to Vincent in particular stood out and my heart says to give him a chance.

I don't think either would let us down, but I do think a slightly pacier centre half with a strong passing ability would be a nice change in central defence, rather than two big fellas. McCombe and Davis for me.

Adams also hinted, I thought, at what the origin of any tiff between the two might have been when he said Owen has been disappointed not to be playing. Personally I'd go with the future (and a player who moves on a non-geological time scale) and pick Davis. He has to be forgiven his early season gaffe at some point.

Owen. Simply because Akinfenwa is a tank and Davis isn't that strong.

Davis would make a good central midfielder. He played some very good forward passes last night and is good in the tackle.

Crikey, what with Warren suggesting MacDonald as a central midfielder, with you two in charge we'd have two centre backs in midfield. Who would up play up front, Sam Johnson because of his height? ;)

the cobblers play long ball , a bit more long ball followed by free kicks corners and long throws . their fans dont like it but thats the way boothroyd does it . we will have to be big and strong at the back and in midfield . unfortunately young davies will get battered so owen for me . the will not be quick up front just big and strong .

Davis for me. At some point we've got to start blooding the young players coming through the system. Injuries and suspensions are the right time to do it. He looked good when he came on last night as well.

We're taking a risk if we go with Owen. Sad to say, but he could break down at any moment with another injury and to be fair I haven't been too impressed in the last few outings he's made for Vale. He looked like his legs had gone, which is probably due to the incredible bad luck he's had with injuries.
