was the ref that bad?

He was awful. He missed two penalty decisions for us, but gave them theirs. He lost control of the game & that ultimatly cost them their sending off.

I think Adams must have had a few stern words with him at half time because he was eager to give us everything at the start of the second half. Once it went 1-1, we never really noticed him because we were playing well and the tide had turned.

Back to the question, yes, he was that bad.

What he said. Not one of the best we have had here. Wont be the worst tho.

Don't normally whinge about refs as really not a lot you can do about them and how they perform. I am also someone who believes decisions generally even themselves out over a season.

However that first half performance today was the worst I have ever seen. Had that continued second half and we had lost the game, you worry someone's frustration will boil over and we would have a situation akin to the Sheffield v Leeds match where someone comes on the pitch and assaults the ref resulting in very severe punishment for the club.

Yes he was a total idiot who got so many things wrong and his positioning was awful. His assistant on the Railway side was even worse - it was as though he had been told not to get involved or make a decision. Money under false pretences I think! Perhaps they had a chat at half term because something was different.

Just my opinion of course but a complete plank!

Total ****. Too heavy and behind play and missed big things like 2 penalties for us. Those who have played the game, or know what they're talking about will know that the body check guy went down trying not to be sent off. Instead the **** in the middle gave a bounce up. I dont get either how he was a homer in the second half. He was just less ****.

I can only reiterate what most have said so far, very comical first half, better second half. One thing though, early second half two Wycombe players collided with each other, both needed treatment but neither left the field, anyone know why? Is there a rule I don't know about or did the ref get this wrong too?

He sounded terrible.... but was he that bad?

In a word, yes.

gave them a pen which was'nt, then does'nt give us one for a body check big daddy would be proud of, booked boom which was never a booking, as others have said, liner railway side never gave anything untill the ref made a decision then just agreed with the ref.

One thing that may have swayed him was the bloke that looked like he was dressed as a fan (wycombe top over a jumper) had a right pop at him.

Never quite understood the refs/liners waiting in the centre of the pitch and almost holding hands as they walk off. If I was a ref and I knew I had just a proper shi..ocking first half I would just want to get off the pitch and not set my self up for more abuse. but hey........

did make me laugh the almost polite chant of "your not fit to referee" LOL
