Plymouth Argyle v Port Vale - Match Thread

Featured Replies

Possibly the worst performance by an attacking unit I've seen. Inability to control the ball, compete to hold a ball or complete simple passes. Midfield was pretty awful as well. For all his effort Croasdale isn't technically good enough at this level and he was by some way the best of our midfield and forward player, with the exception of Hernandez. Shipley is capable of glimpses of quality which means he just doesn't concentrate enough on doing the basics ie passing it to a man 2 yards away. If Sheriff was in a Bob Marley song he maybe would shoot either the Sheriff or the Deputy; but only because he couldn't get anywhere near the goal he was aiming at. Waine's purple patch seems some time ago.

With injuries to the few players who can occasionally pass to one of our own players I'm not convinced we should be playing youth team players. Shorrock has a bit of experience and probably should be getting a run out. Defensively I thought Headley was particularly sub standard today. Odd flashes that he could be a good player are sufficient in an 18 year old but not in a player who is supposedly in his prime. Headley looked like a player whose career could go either way when we signed him and it certainly doesn't look like his career is ever going to include a return to anything close to Championship level again. Increasing he is resembling Christmas tree lights, not even plugged in for most of the season and only switched on 10% of the short time he is connected to the grid.

Personally I don’t want the young lads thrown in for the last two games. Would only taint them for next season.  Fresh start for them. Could blight them for ever with the damaging results that are likely.

Brady pretty much summed it all up in his post match interview.

Sherif has had a total of 4 shots on target for Vale this season. That's awful.

In his last interviews he has mentioned the failure of the recruitment process... must be obvious that he doesn't rate darnborough,as indeed no one else does.

Brown has 5 shots on target, Waine 11, Stockley 8, Gray 2. Meanwhile, Tolaj has 37.

And Cole had 16 shots on target for us. Interesting.

First half started poorly and gifted them a goal. Then they gifted us a way back into the game. Rest of the half I thought we were relatively good.

Second half we were dreadful, turned it off after 80 minutes and only just come back to look at it again. It really shows what Connor Hall gives us defensively. Humphries is hot and cold. Gabriel is wasted at RCB. Gordon was poor when he came on too.

We have no idea what to do upfront. It’s not wonder Connor Hall and Croasdale are our top goal scorers. Oh to have a striker that picks the ball up and his only thought is “where is the goal?”

Hernandez needs a contract offer now. Not the end of the season retained list. Now.

That many?

He will improve as he is only 19 but he is way off being a league player currently, another hopeless signing in the position we were in

Only Carol rates Darnborough, and maybe Alan.

I know its all hypothetical etc. But if all our strikers shots on targets went in, including Cole, it would still only be 40 goals.

One more. Tolaj had 5 shots on target for us this season.

Cole may have had loads more if the crazy man had played him in the right position

Equally awful is the recruitment team who thought it would be a good idea to bring him in. Buck stops with management and recruitment. Completely failed our club since our promotion to league one.
