The fact our top goalscorer this season left the club in January is an absolute embarrassment for the recruitment side of the club.

If you went through the whole squad I wonder how many relegations you would end up with. My guess quite a few.

Tolaj is quality .

Vale have not had a front line since he left .

Too lose when playing 90 minutes with extra man is nothing short of a disgrace .

They had 1 more attempt on goal that us too

At half time we had 10 attempts and somehow we got worse and only had 5 when C Hall departed the field ,ive seen there second goal why is shipley the nearest man too there scorer where 's Humpfreys gone .

Sherif Brown aint the answer they havent been all campaign yet lasso keeps playing there no good you clown ,might aswell play Hernandez up front with Magloire but Brady 1 man up front wont do that ,against ten men he as no idea nevermind 11 

Gray up front with Hernandez and G Hall as a 10 is what he should have gone with 5 or 6 games ago and the five minute Stockley heads on Gray v Barnsley goes after it was better than the piffle of 1 up front 

Good grief Vale parks being a morgue all season and Bradies bar cup games as really not delivered

We had so much possession, but effective possession..very very little considering the circumstances. 
 
This can’t just be on players, it has been an issue under Moore and Brady. Ideas for creating chances has to be part of a team strategy and tactics, which I have seen little change of. 

I think it's on the players. No way can two managers be exactly the same. Can there? Brady knows the players are rubbish. We know the players are rubbish. I bet even the players know they are rubbish.

I honestly don’t think it is a mental block. It’s a resource block. We didn’t manage to keep hold of more than 1 league 1 striker throughout the season. We needed Cole before Tolaj left, let alone as a replacement. 
 

There is a bizarre lack of understanding about what a league 1 team looks like. We seem to think it’s a league 2 team with a few overpaid experienced has beens will do the job. 
 

I mean looking back we knew too well the likes of Garrity, Conor Hall and Ojo were not going to be good enough and yet nothing was really done to definitively address that. 
 

Also a lot of squad changes match to match is a long term issue now, we not had a settled league 1 team across 3 managers now.

I feel sorry for Ojo this season. I think overall he has had his best season for us in terms of his personal effort. Proved in the cup games against higher opposition he was still a technically excellent footballer. 
 

He doesn’t deserve the 3 relegations based on his efforts this season. Better than the underwhelming Byers for me.

Are we not giving the managers / heads of recruitment / DoFs enough budget to be competitive,

or have they all spent it poorly? Every single one?

I'm intrigued to know what the common denominator is for us struggling at this level.
