I’d hardly call it a hissy fit and given his performances, along with his workrate & attitude since joining us - I think he’s entitled to give some fans a little bit back when we’re booing our own players for keeping possession of the ball, which led to a goal! It’s not like he did a Shipley and hushed the fans when he scored a goal - the only thing Shipley did of note!

if the training pitch and match day pitch help to make it easier on the players, then hopefully that will help to stop the little niggles he kept picking up. He covers so much ground - so it’s hardly surprising he picks up muscle injuries….we always love a hard working player but as a consequence, they will pick up muscles injuries as a result. I’d welcome Big Ben back every day of the week

There’s been numerous games this season where I have watched him not cover much ground and jog about with a sulk on, Barnsley at home being the worst example, I thought he was injured given his reluctance to move.

I think he’s run his course here. We will only get 20 games out of him and if our ambition is to be in league 1 again I think he needs to move as he simply isn’t a league 1 footballer. 1 year deal id be ok with which is what I imagine Brady offered. Anything more he can go elsewhere

Chuffed for Waineo, think I read we get about 10K a day whilst he is there don't we so even an early knockout makes us big money?

Was going to watch NZ games at the WC to cheer him on, then saw their kick off times!!! 😁

Morning everyone, I’m back with some news just heard from a mate that we’re looking to bring in Blackburn winger Todd Cantwell and Portsmouth keeper Josef Bursik. Apparently both players not happy and looking for a club on the up.

Won’t be coming here then

Lowe and Maja up front <ovf censored> me we’re going to smash it this season

With Freddie Woodman in goal and Luke Ayling at the back - 2 other out of contract players suggested by another poster!

Could be exciting  times next year 😎🤪

There's some rate crazy @ss kick off times fer sure

Shan't be watching any WC, FIFA is corrupt and no fair tournament will ever happen, especially in the US.

You should be able to answer that one yourself NW9.

Yes, that you’re talking complete sh!te, that’s the point of my sarcastic reply.

(Delusional) Expectations: Josh Maja and Nathan Lowe in L2

Reality: Sherif and Waine

Some of our fans are living on another planet  😅😅

And hence you will now share your own constructive suggestions for players we actually could sign who would make our club better.

We're all fascinated to hear your positive contributions to the debate ...

Josh Maja is departing WBA.

Yes, I know, he's been playing a big step above the level we'll be playing next season.

But if July pre-season comes round and he has nothing on the table, the top end of Vale's pay-scale might become attractive to him.

Just a thought for all of the clever critics.

If it had been suggested at this point last year that Vale would be able to sign Devante Cole from WBA, you would have scoffed.

In fact some of you probably did.

I've already said that Josh Maja is a long shot for Vale, and it is obvious that he is.

But so was Devante Cole, and yet that all changed when he got to late August 2025 and still had no contract offer on the table.

These are the calibre of player we have to be considering, if we want, as a first step, to become an established EFL1 club, competing strongly in the top half of the EFL1 table.

I’m looking forward to going to Florida in a couple of weeks and watching him play against England

For the last World Cup the FIFA Club Befits Programme ‘compensated’ clubs who ‘loaned’ players to the tournament ~$11,000 per day they were participating. Does the same apply for this tournament too? If so we could be getting another unexpected windfall for Ben of at least $260,000, more if NZ go past the group stage, even if he doesn’t kick a ball.

Sorry V16 just seen this after posting something similar.

How are you still seriously defending your ridiculous Maja suggestion?

Cole had 1 season in the championship and was constantly on West Brom’s bench not good enough to play.

Maja hasn’t played lower than the championship since he was 20 years old, played 40 championship games last season, and the season before that scored 12 in 26 in the championship.

Josh Maja and Devante Cole are absolutely not comparable

The brilliant irony is that alan and his twin have a touch of the principal skinner when it comes to expectations.
