Says you who says i know bugger all and zilch resorting to insults.

If you were in the Stoke City management hierarchy or know Lowe well you would likely say so,  so it's fair to assume that you like me, have no idea what these people are thinking hence we both know know bugger all, zilch what any response would be.

The likes of me ?

Bold assumption there fella. You know nothing about my character or me.

You posted you took x months away from OVF but within a few days of returning launch into a tirade of abuse when there was no reason to do so, this gives some insight into you character. Perhaps debate and OVF are not for you?

Do you actually attend games or just content to post on here and pluck fantasy names out who you have heard of ?

You call me sanctimonious yet post stuff like that, hypocrisy to say the least.

I won't bother answering the first question, I wouldn't post regularly on OVF if I wasn't a Vale fan and the last time I saw the player in question play he was real and not some fantasy name or figure.

We'll agree to disagree. I just think you're incredibly naive if you think signing Lowe or Tezgel is a realistic proposition for Port Vale.

Granville, I have never said that signing Lowe is a realistic proposition. I've said that he's the standard of player we should be enquiring about along with players from non-league and then go from there.

Christ, why stop there? With that logic, since Joe Gelhardt’s contract is up end of season perhaps we ought to enquire about him.

I’m sure he would jump down two divisions as well. 😂

But to answer seriously, “It’s not realistic but ask anyway” is just a complete waste of time. I really don’t know why you’d bother suggesting it if it’s not a plausible transfer, cause it’s not.

Paul, you're usually very considered with your posts. I recall back in the covid days having some very intelligent debates with you, but you're way off the mark with this.

Byers is a seasoned pro who got money thrown at him. It's a completely different scenario to Lowe. He's just played for two top 10 teams in league one as part of his development. Irrelevant of whether it's Stoke or indeed any club, they're hardly going to let him out on loan into league 2. They'll want him minimum league 1. If they decide to sell him, they'll just look to get the most money that they can for him, which even the most positive of Vale fans is unlikely to think is us. The player himself is likely to have league 1 interest....he's not going to sign permanently for a league 2 club unless we paid absolutely stupid money. He wants to progress as much as his club.

You're just digging a hole here Paul I'm afraid. I admire your positivity but there's absolutely ZERO chance we're signing Lowe on loan or permanently. It's pointless us even enquiring.

I'll counter your argument with my (as a proud lifelong salesman) favourite maxim: Shy Kids Don't Get Sweets.

If we do t ask we'll never know.

Also, try telling that to Rudgie who had no shame in picking up the phone and asking Sir Alex if he could have this loans player or that loan player. It's even said that he offered £50,000 to be Gillespie when he was one of the young kids coming through with Beckham, Scholls etc el.

Personally, I'd pick up the phone and ring down the 500. But then that's just me.

LV, We have a difference of mindset and this doesn't apply to just signing Lowe. Jon Brady has acknowledged that Vale are gonna have to spent money to sign a decent striker(s), Vale must have some money from the Tolaj deal and the cup runs so why not spend a chunk of it on a striker(s) with a recent track record of scoring goals in Lges 1 & 2 which Lowe is one possibility.

Vale are gonna need to score 65+ goals to stand a chance of auto promo and approx 50 goals  to stay in Lge 2, it makes absolute sense to push the boat out for a striker(s), the last two relegation seasons has taught us that.

You should be able to answer that one yourself NW9.

Lowe and Maja up front <ovf censored> me we’re going to smash it this season

V_593, Plz accept this with the humor with which it's intended.

If we did sign both and they did smash it next season then hopefully we may not have to read your pre-match comments.

Depends if we selected them otherwise you may have to read those pre match comments

This is different scenarios Osh. Those lads had never been on loan before and we were a Championship club. This guy has already had 2 loans in the league above.

It would literally be a waste of time and energy to even enquire when we could be going after players that actually will come to play for us.

Now, I don't deny we should go for players LIKE Lowe but if the club are wasting their time trying to sign completely unrealistic targets then we're going to be in bother.

I agree Paul, we're definitely going to need to spend money but it's just realism. The guy will either go to another league 1 club on loan or be sold. Unless we threw a ridiculous transfer fee AND wages for someone who had half a good season in league 2, the reality is he just ain't going to drop back to league 2. He certainly won't be loaned back to this level. It would be a complete waste of time and budget.

We need to pay money for some of the best players in the National League or league 2, who might see Vale as a promotion contender and a step up.

It's not that I disagree with your premise that we need to spend money on players at the top end of the pitch, it's that you're suggesting a ridiculous target where we need to concentrate on players actually likely to come here.

Time to call out this knob

I’m looking forward to going to Florida in a couple of weeks and watching him play against England

He could learn a lot from the likes of Chris Wood.

I'm undecided on Garrity which seems sad given his 4 years here , 2 years with his persistent niggles , risky ?

Didn't like his body language at times and his hissy fit against Bradford in the promotion crunch game.

I know this is totally contradictory but if he signs then ok good, if not he leaves with head held high and we seek a replacement. Genuinely can't make my mind up. He's played 54 league games out of 92.

I’d hardly call it a hissy fit and given his performances, along with his workrate & attitude since joining us - I think he’s entitled to give some fans a little bit back when we’re booing our own players for keeping possession of the ball, which led to a goal! It’s not like he did a Shipley and hushed the fans when he scored a goal - the only thing Shipley did of note!

if the training pitch and match day pitch help to make it easier on the players, then hopefully that will help to stop the little niggles he kept picking up. He covers so much ground - so it’s hardly surprising he picks up muscle injuries….we always love a hard working player but as a consequence, they will pick up muscles injuries as a result. I’d welcome Big Ben back every day of the week
