He certainly wasn't brilliant buy he's 19 playing in a poor side that struggles to create goals. Plus, he'd be playing against poorer defenders in a lower league. Really difficult to judge him on this last season. I think he could come good with the right coaching.

Paul, you're usually very considered with your posts. I recall back in the covid days having some very intelligent debates with you, but you're way off the mark with this.

Byers is a seasoned pro who got money thrown at him. It's a completely different scenario to Lowe. He's just played for two top 10 teams in league one as part of his development. Irrelevant of whether it's Stoke or indeed any club, they're hardly going to let him out on loan into league 2. They'll want him minimum league 1. If they decide to sell him, they'll just look to get the most money that they can for him, which even the most positive of Vale fans is unlikely to think is us. The player himself is likely to have league 1 interest....he's not going to sign permanently for a league 2 club unless we paid absolutely stupid money. He wants to progress as much as his club.

You're just digging a hole here Paul I'm afraid. I admire your positivity but there's absolutely ZERO chance we're signing Lowe on loan or permanently. It's pointless us even enquiring.

To be honest if he is just £1 million quid that is the bargain of the century. Always been impressed by him despite being a Stoke player who enjoyed giving and taking stick from us. 
 

He won’t come but that’s the sort of player we should have spent the Tolaj money on in league 1. £1m sounds like it may be roughly our 20% sell on fee for Tolaj anyway.

It’s quite telling he hasn’t named any other strikers really. The ones people are talking about from lower league seem potentially more exciting prospects and better resale value — not to mention more logical & realistic targets.
