Summer transfer rumours/speculation and retained list

Featured Replies

Seen fair bit of the National League. Maybe seen York 4 or 5 times .

Hard to make a judgement on Male because in most of the games he's had little to do. He has only ever played non-league and is it telling that York have chosen to release him now they are up ?

4 or 5 games doesn't paint the whole picture really but in such a dominant team and excellent defence he's not been overworked.

His stats are really good but I don't think we can say for sure he's an option due to the factors I've mentioned.

It looks like an all singing and dancing signing having just won the title for York.

I'm on the fence with this one as a possible keeper for August.

Have we got the same recruitment team?

Or have they being consigned too on your bike, and go recruit for someone else.

Folk can point finger at players but you surround good players like Byers Croasdale, with naff forwards, then why would you trust them get anyone in any good ,did he not fail at Stoke this fella so what makes it right thst we have too rely on anyone he brings in ,with his track record ,he could be getting us nearer national league than top 8 of league 2

Surely he as been relieved of his duties

If not we happy with his work then ?

Because the support are not

Read the room ...CS

Summer transfers lets get folk in who bring the right attitudes in ,the right mentality

Lee D aint the answer if he is we in trouble

There was supposed to be an update on the Football department mentioned on the 5th May on the club website but nothing yet

It was under operational and Infrastructure update

Not sure if he's just not updated it in a while but Darnborough's LinkedIn is showing as #opentowork

Still "Senior Head of Recruitment & Talent ID" for Vale though.

Believe he is heading to Worthing

But other teams fans want him, so we need to sign him just because of other fans

What’s that? Alan says if Harry Winks doesn’t get an offer he might be tempted by the top end of our wage bracket? 😲

Leicester`s drop from the Prem is resulting in a clear out of high earners with high transfer fees, apparently there will be £10M to cover replacements, so players such as Abdulmalik could be easily snapped up for development purposes.

Josh Maja is departing WBA.

Yes, I know, he's been playing a big step above the level we'll be playing next season.

But if July pre-season comes round and he has nothing on the table, the top end of Vale's pay-scale might become attractive to him.

You think Maja who was on 17k a week and notorious for spitting his dummy out and leaving clubs because of his greed and greedy agent would come to vale ?

I recommend watching the Sunderland documentary if you haven't where he left Sunderland and jumped to Bordeaux for the very same reason and left on very bad terms.

You should be in a loony bin if you think he would

A) Take anything less than 10k

B) drop down to league 2

Setting aside your offensive remarks, your own realistic suggestion is …?

Someone within our price range maybe would be more realistic...

Thank you for your insightful suggestion.

I'm sure the Vale scouting team will be straight onto it ... 🙂

If the scouting team are getting tips from the likes of VFIA and Nipster then we really are <ovf censored>.

Alan,I think there have been several realistic names mentioned on here over the past few weeks, with a couple of very unrealistic ones of which one of those is Maja imo(no offence)

@Alan Vit I think, in this case, you must admit defeat. Maja is a Championship standard player and even if he does decide to drop down a division he will have no end of offers from League One.

A more realistic target for me would be Regan Linney at Carlisle, a goalscoring winger who seems to have gone under the radar a bit. I'd also be looking at Kabia at Grimsby if they dont go up.

I agree with all of that although Kabia is attracting interest from several league one teams,so my guess is that he will end up there

Next steps for him is surely going to be a League One loan move

I agree but IF he was to be offered on loan again at league two level then i would be certainly throwing our name in there for him

Someone should tell him its LinkedIn and not the r/badjokes subreddit

Heard on the grapevine we’re going in for Jordan Ayew apparently not happy at Leicester and wants to join a team looking for promotion.
