The club can not doing anything other than wait 28 days. Football League rules I believe 

Stand out, out of contract player for Crewe is Lewis Billington 

Always thought Tracey at Crewe was decent but far too injury prone for us to go near him.

Agreed,he does seem one of their good young players and he also has a lot of experience for a young lad,which you would expect being at Crewe tbf

I think that one for them does seem a bit harsh considering he has been out for a long time with a double fracture,i would of thought he would get a 12mth deal from them to prove himself again as he was a stand out for them before his injury

I guess they have to be ultra careful with their budget though

Perhaps you could have another think about it…?

My own best guess is that Josh Maja will be playing below Championship level next season,  so will only command a fraction of his former Championship wages.

Still a long shot for Vale, but worth an enquiry.

We messed up under flitcroft by targeting players out of our range. 
With respect, Cole and Gray signed for us in league 1 and won’t be on half what Maja would command. 
We need to target realistic players

You think Maja who was on 17k a week and notorious for spitting his dummy out and leaving clubs because of his greed and greedy agent would come to vale ? 

I recommend watching the Sunderland documentary if you haven't where he left Sunderland and jumped to Bordeaux for the very same reason and left on very bad terms. 

You should be in a loony bin if you think he would 

A) Take anything less than 10k 

B) drop down to league 2
