Match Thread - Port Vale v Peterborough Utd

Featured Replies

Half decent for 20 mins, miss a sitter then progressively worse from there, eventually ending the half getting ripped apart at will. Sound familiar?

Dominated the first ten minutes and done next to nothing since, lucky to go in level at the break.

If you were a Peterborough fan you’d be saying we should be 3-0 down after the vale chances early on.

I would say their chances have been more gilt-edged than ours. But then again I’m sat in the Hamil. Notwithstanding those early ‘chances’, we’ve definitely been 2nd best that half for me. They look miles better than us with the ball, break with pace and numbers. We again have no real pattern of play, invariably going backwards to lump it fowards. We’re going down I’m afraid.

I’m afraid we look like a bottom of the table team 😬

Hallmark of a relegation team: mistakes at the back; no dominance in midfield; can’t score up top.
Er, yep, that’s us…

Walters done a good job for us I think. Problem is the lack of Byers is very noticeable as we’re not keeping the ball for any prolonged period. I’d be tempted get Shipley on for Croasdale improve our ball distribution.

DM needs to look at how they’re working us through the channels. In the game at least.

I'd say that Vale just about shaded that first half on performance.

I'll have what you're having

Wayne should have scored, Henneghan should have done better with his free header but they should have scored twice, once when sent through but decided to hit it straight at Amos when there was loads of space to Amos right and the chance where their player had all the time in world near the penalty spot. Bar first 10-15 minutes we’ve been shocking.

Again, Vale can't score when on top/creating chances.

Posh playing on the counter which Vale have  to be very careful of.

Good to see Mitch doing well, Lisbie  for them is a fast, tricky customer.

Need the run of the ball to go Vale's way.

Apart from an early flurry and a derailment we have spent most of the game chasing shadows while they pass through us.

Walters and croasdale isnt working as a pairing time for shipley and curtis I think.

Also noticeable that when they have a throw in there is movement and they open us up, Vale have a throw and we stand around like statues

Since Hall went off they’ve destroyed us on the break just equally as bad as us at finishing.

Way too open.

It’s too late. We are already down because Carol and co have left it too late. Sack him now and we have to go through the whole process of hiring someone, at which point the window will be open and will give the new manager no time to evaluate the squad and then bring players in. It’s been a complete <ovf censored> show now for months and unfortunately it’s on Carol and Matt Hancock.

Get a grip, lads.

Not just Jgpvfc, but all of the Vale gloom and doomsters.

We are not already down, and our December performances across all competitions have been very encouraging.

Our existing management team know all of these players inside out, and already know very well where we need to strengthen in January.

And that work will already be well advanced.

It's easy to support our club when everything is going well.

It is times like this when everything is much more challenging that is when you need to show your real Vale fighting spirit and get behind the lads.

Usual story, ok for 15 mins, ran out of ideas after Hall went off, defensively all at sea, should be 3-1 to them, Waine should have buried the header

It’s always challenging supporting the Vale

Cole pressured well for 15 minutes, been a statue since. Every time Clark has a throw he gives it away.
