So he did my mistake and that's his first start in the league.

From a purely business perspective we should definitely sell him, since we are going down and there’s no way he’s still with us in league 2. May as well cash in during Jan when the prices are higher.

Optically though this is terrible. What an absolutely shambolic club we are. 12 points adrift and selling our top scorer. The club may as well come out now and tell us they’ve accepted relegation and forfeit all remaining games.

As someone else has said, this is a Smurthwaite esque window, like the one where we flogged Grant and Alnwick.

Carol, Hancock, and Moore should be utterly ashamed of what they have done to our club this season. Hancock needs sacking ASAP and Moore should never get a managerial job again.

I honestly cant remember us ever having a good January window, perhaps with the exception of the year we got Lee Hughes.

This window could turn out to be worse than one of Norman’s.

Will the last player to leave port vale please switch off the lights.

Exactly what i was thinking.

The current situation is a massive, depressing, horrific mess.

This all reeks of

"We are delighted to announce the return of striker Mo Faal on a permanent deal from Wrexham"

Don’t even joke about it. I put him on a par with Lofty.

Coles a good player in the wrong team. As much as id love him to be the one to score the goals to stay up, it wont happen. Cash in.

The season is over. Accept it. It feels better.

IF we sell Cole, they might as well put:
"Due to Port Vale having given up and accepted relegation, we're delighted to announce the sale of Devante Cole to XXX".

NOTHING would scream admitting defeat, like selling our top goalscorer!

Totally agree. Raising the white flag now is a disgrace. Until it is mathematically impossible every effort should be made to keep this club in the division. Not hearing rumors of us letting our best players go and bringing in 7th tier amateurs.

We should have been spending time and money bringing in 4 top notch league 1 gems. There are too many games left and too much at stake to say, oh well let’s go back to league 2. A bad league 1 team will only ever be an average league 2 team and we won’t get a good league 2 team by bringing in even worse players to that.

The Carol ones have never exactly been vintage either. Every damn year is the same. We keep saying nobody does good business in Jan, but every club seems to manage it by getting a good deal on one of our assets. Plymouth already have Curtis.

Want my guess? Cole will join up with Tolaj at Plymouth and we will see the strike force we should have had.

I agree but you don’t get the right team by getting rid of one of the few “right” players.

He wont be right. He wont want to play for us.

Thats again not about his ability. I believe he is a good striker. But he isnt interested in playing league 2 and he can't save us alone.

4 top notch league 1 signings would of been a decent approach 2 years a go when we were still in touching distance.

Were 12 points adrift.

Its over.

Our owners dont have a endless pot of money. Its senseless to chase this now. They've massively messed this up. Save the funds to try and return at the first time of asking again.

The Fire sale started with Curtis going. It’ll continue now until the squads thinned from branch to root.

Then, I have the feeling that they’ll say next year we’re having a go. But in reality, it’ll be just words. The salaries offered to players will be slashed back and the attempt to push us on will be history.

i think the hierarchy don’t believe we have the funds to be in Lg1 and they’ll settle for being a Lg2 mediocrity club. Long term, that’ll be more sustainable for them. They can run the hub from the club and the fans will soon forget relegation and be happy with the odd win and draw here and there.

Low manager wages, low staff, low risk.

Just a hunch, but the way they’ve acted for the last few months. Something stinks

You talk a lot of sense Valiant Haze.

We are in a mess...
