Ripley got slated when he came out apologising now it’s Jesse it’s all good.
Stay out of the media and sort it out. That’s not aimed at him in particular but the whole group.

Faal wasn’t trying yesterday imo.

He was trying…. He just isn’t technically up to speed on how and when to press leaving Curtis very exposed.

Combine that with having a poor game with the ball ( which can happen to anyone) results in a bit of a mare for him.

if he’s going g to make it as a pro he needs to come out firing the next time he gets a chance on the pitch.

It's not a "Bloody shambles", it's the lge results that are a shambles, overall play is good and organized apart from putting the damned ball in the net.

Putting the ball in the net 🥅 is the most important part of the game and if you conner do that you're in serious bother

I don't buy into overall play and all that malarkey, Goals win you games it's that simple .

Yep Nippy, putting the ball in the net is the most important part of football as how do you get 3 pts for a win if you can't score, points are not earned for playing well.

However it's just  not right to use the word, "Shambles" as IMHO it's only one aspect of Vale's play that's a "Shambles" which is putting the ball in the net although it's the most important piece of play.

We all know what the damned problem is. Its so frustrating watching game after game in a higher league where Vale generally match or even out play opponents, create chances but don't get a win, League Cup excepted.

I'll ask a question to all the OVF members who read this thread. If we sign by tomorrow a proven goalscorer by spending £1m by tomorrow, would you be confident that this would solve our lack of goal scoring? After all, football is a team game so we score and not concede as a team.

I wouldn't be confident FtD but we're creating chances, so signing a goal scorer now would improve our chances of winning games and improve our Lge position.

All you can do in life is try your best and Vale trying their best means signing a proven goal scoring striker at this level now, within the current financial means of the club.

I'm guessing the club are working 24/7 to make this happen at the moment, DM was stum yesterday when asked the question about transfers, he didn't say incoming transfers were done for the window.

It's not rocket science is it? - we need people at the front who can score. You can't sell the likes of Tolaj (whatever the reasons) and then expect to sail on serenely.  I will assume Darren and Carole are addressing this with some urgency...

Did you miss the fact we've bought two recruits in...??

I refer to players of the calibre of those that have left and who therefore need to be replaced by Players of equal standard or better - else we go backwards.

We definitely could do with a striker that can hit around 15 goals a season and is proven at doing that even if its somebody towards the end of there career. Another problem is with garrity missing so many games lately we have nobody in our midfield capable of chipping in with around 8 goals a season from midfield. Walters, byers, croasdale and ojo are all playing well but don't really score or create anything.

We’ve had a decent budget this season, more than last season but Moore decided to strengthen our midfield and bring in more wing backs at the expensive of our defence and striker force. Cant blame Carol for that, Humphries won’t have been cheap or Gabriel and Shipley, Gordon was offered a contract by Walsall so I would guess we have offered more. IMO, we strengthened in the wrong areas, that is down to Moore and his recruitment team.

Don’t agree that we’ve strengthened in the wrong areas, it just looks like we’ve not got the striking department right to me, too many inexperienced players and we’re hoping one comes good, which may happen.  Even that might not be such an issue when Stockley returns, he’d bury a few of the headed chances we’ve missed.  Everyone said we needed cover at CB and WB.  Technically, we’ve not bought cover in at CB, we’ve simply replaced Smith with Humphries and Moore will see John, Gabriel and Gordon as capable of playing one of the 3 CB’s.  We’ve added to the midfield plus Ojo came back in and looked Ok. It’s just up top, Tolaj gone, Stockley now injured, Curtis gives us the workrate but not really the answer to our goalscoring conundrum, Waine not prolific last season, Paton and the young loanees complete unknowns, need games to see how they do.

ive said it before and ill say it again. there is 0.0000000001% chance of us signing a quality striker this side of january. browns been given the number 10 shirt which says alot. and to get anyone even like tolaj we will be paying over the odds. there is a reason plymouth came to us to grab our striker. they couldnt get anyone else. clubs are reluctant to offload strikers now unless you come in with a BIG money offer. and we just aint gonna do that.

Agreed...I thought Tolaj would go in January if he bagged a few before then, I'm guessing Brown is his replacement.

So, you are referring to Tolaj. A man who came from non-league who we took a chance on. People on here, at THIS time last season, we're saying was crap, gash, rubbish - will never make a League 2 footballer.

We've just done what you#ve asked for - two young players with lots of potential. They need a chance.

Just watched the goal back. Sunday league stuff, again. Byers trotting back lazily and Headley asleep without any awareness of who's around him.

yes two players both switch off when we should be defending with our lives to keep a clean sheet. Different game, different players at fault but same result.
