Problem with our recruitment is with all the signings we've made over the summer none have improved what we already had. Weve just added to the squad.

Then sell our best striker, our only real goal threat. So we're actually weaker this season than last season as it stands, with 2 days until the window shuts.

All depends how badly the hierarchy want to stay in Div 1 # No  proven strikers signed up before deadline day= relegation, imo

We have no end product .

The next whatever it is  till end of deadline will tell me if the yo yo continues .

Gutted nothing goes in for us

Make it thst it does

Players who run hard but have no final product will have to be moved on

Digusted Paton didnt get in team /squad today

Waine was clearly not good enough from the first game of the season. You have to question who scouted and question how they could ever have deemed him as any good.

But Darren Moore brought in the

head of recruitment didn't he ?

I'm not worried. Frustrated certainty, but not worried.

We are solid defensively by and large as a team.

We have a strong midfield and create better, and more, chances than the opposition. Our XG is excellent.

For a third of our games we've had to play the majority of the game with 10 men.

Striker wise, it's clear that it's not right or we'd be near the top of the league. DM needs to find the way to get these players scoring. For me, a change of system could be the answer, just as likely as a new striker. It's on DM to earn his money now and find that, much like DC did to fix our defence when he first came in and changed the system (and remember it took him quite a few games to do that).

We will be fine. Usual OVF meltdown after a defeat

Why do we need to see her ?

What we Need is Darren to start gettimg wins on the board and fast

The squad on paper is decent. That can’t be erased in 6 games. But the formation and starting 11 haven’t been right at all for long periods of most games, so that is a worry. Faal can’t run, arguably 3 holding mids playing, but on a massive pitch. We were keeping the ball, but couldn’t do anything with it. We had the better players, but a lapse in concentration and a formation preventing any sort of sustained pressure told in the end.

23/24 Vale relegated with midfield of Garrity,Ojo…..

24/25 Shrewsbury relegated with a midfield of Ojo,Shipley…..

25/26 Vale ????? with a midfield of Garrity,Ojo,Shipley…….

Any fan who thinks we just need a ST and our problems go away are kidding themselves. The balance of this team is wrong, we have too many of the same type of players.

Please DM write you best starting 11 with your best formation on a piece of paper and stick to them for 5 league games and let them develop.

Brown and Walters were the only bright spots from today. I thought everyone else was 5 or below.

Come on mate , Darren will.never stick to picking the same team he is the lower league version of Claudio Ranieri / The Tinker man The manager needs to change his mindset on tactics and fast and how the phantom menace he thinks our squad dunner need improving is beyond me but hey ho

Can we please stop with DM’s overall record with us in L1.

Yes it’s crap but that relegation team is one of the worst in the last 20 years. It was pitiful.

How about you look at DM’s overall record in L1? Tells you a different story.

He knows what he’s doing.

Time will tell , but he inner covering himself in glory at the moment , I just dunner think he can hack it at this level , tbh

Just watched Dazza’s interview and never seen him so despondent. Without naming any individual player, he clearly blamed the players collectively - the defence (one unnamed player in particular) for allowing the chance for their goal and the forwards for letting what chances we had go begging. I think we can anticipate wholesale changes for the next game.

What puzzles me is what has been going on behind the scenes. We’re told that Plymouth came in quickly and aggressively, intimating that we were taken aback by their approach. Yet we knew Tolaj could go at any time, so did we have a replacement lined up or not? And was it the intention to spend now or wait until later windows? Or perhaps not at all?

We’ll never know but I wonder after today if Dazza is realising the weaknesses in the squad and the problems he will have putting them right? He seemed really put out though it’s understandable because we now have worse forward options than last season. I hope to goodness he can though, by any objective measure, doing so at this late stage will be very difficult.

Good luck Dazza - but what a mess.

The manager will have a big say in recruitment, you do know that don't you bud

After 6 games without a win, only 2 goals and losing one of our best players, it is not a meltdown. Our starting 11 is arguably weaker than the one that finished last season. XG means nothing. Goals and points are what count.

I hope your right but 6 games in and we have a couple of days to sign someone who can score otherwise we will struggle. We’ve been here before very recently. Big couple of days coming up I just hope we can bring someone in up top.

It’s defo not a meltdown after a defeat. It’s a lot of well formed/balanced opinions of our season so far. I, personally, have never been convinced by DM. There were times last season when we were really awful to watch and struggled. It’s certainly concerning that we haven’t addressed our glaring issue (which was present even before Tolaj went).

You're not worried we can't score goals

So how are we going to win games then 🙄

Honestly, my brother is a Plymouth fan and at this level, Vale have done so well to get 1.2  mil for a player that, whilst works hard, doesn’t have a great touch or vision of play in League One.  What did he do for Vale this season before the sale?  I liked Tolaj in league two but  we did very well with that transfer.
