William Hill offering 3/1 on Vale finishing 12th or higher

@Osh

I decided on balance that the odds might become even skinnier if we make another good signing, so I've had a little flutter on that one.

If i was a betting man which i am probably on average 4 times a year max id say Liverpool Leicester Luton and MK Dons to win leagues

Finish in top three in each league

Man City Ipswich Plymouth and Gillingham .

Play off winners Coventry Blackpool Bristol Rovers .

Port Vale to beat some top 6 teams, will do and a 11 th too 13th placed finish acceptable, but even when losing games entertainment value decent to keep folk interested in attending, as we know what football fans are like there as fickle as can be.

How we do will reflect in our attendances .

So do well as we have generally in this league, lacked in certain areas over the years, but can only be as good as the budget allows, and if cannot compete in that area need  team spirit to win through ,i believe Moores lad have that in abundance and we stronger than last 3 campaigns in this league hopefully

I thought it was good odds since Darrell already has a relegation to non league on his CV for Bristol Rovers.

Took me a while to realise why you’d bet on Rovers to go down 🤣

I think there is a good possibility that Rovers will struggle this season. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

I doubt it, I reckon they will be top 7.

I think they will be in the top 7 but I don't see them getting promoted and although we did it last season it's hard to get promoted at the first time of asking after getting relegated from L1.

Feel free to remind me at the end of the season if I was wrong.

Hi Osh,

Oddschecker are now listing William Hill offering 3/1 on Vale finishing 12th or higher -

Seems like skinny odds, considering they are also offering 15/8 on Vale being relegated.

I still can't find any offers of my own sought bet on Vale finishing 20th or higher, i.e. not being relegated.

I'd probably be tempted by the 12th or higher bet, if the odds were say 4/1.

Hi Alan,

Keep your powder dry TILL just before the season starts.....

I don't fancy the 3/1 either....

I'd want at LEAST the 4/1.....

I'm giving serious thoughts on LUMPING ON the Vale to finish above Burton @ 10/11 Bet 365....

I consider it to be an insult that poxy Burton are 4/5 FAVE'S to finish above us!!....🥺🤣

AH!!

365 have just adjusted,

5/6 each of two now's....

I wonder why you think that.

Not really.

We all already know that your comment at the end of the season will be -

"Darrell Clarke bad! Boo!"

~ even if Bristol Rovers win the division by 10 points from second place.

As we go into another campaign in league 1 ,im not sure how i feel to be honest as we havent really done well in past 3 league  campaigns in it .

So i suppose im not expecting too much , be a bit silly if indeed I did go into it full of confidence .

Im just going take it for what it is ,a bag of wind ,loved by millions, but not Life and Death

A way to let off steam after a demanding week at work , and the games i  will be attendsnce , be as positive as can be and keep encouraging  .

Lets see if we compete with these clubs ive seen a lot of signings by clubs paying a million for there  services, in some cases so its  the same thing what happened last time in this league .

1 top half have me lots

Middle part the haves but team spirit more important than money, and surprisingly these sides do well yet have no names as such.

3 then the rest who have to make do with the scraps, and get by with players that are not up to the job but hope they can scrape enough stay  clear from bottom 4

Lets see what category we slip into .
