Today has highlighted that we are still 4 or 5 players short of what we need to be competitive next season in League one. Also, today has also highlighted that Ainsworth would make a great Vale manager hopefully one day. Him and his team did an absolute job on us today. They will be up there next season with him in charge.

I agree with you but also at the same time if Vale had the correct desire today they would have won at a canter

Not after an argument, but what was your opinion on a pitch invasion back in the day, when it was encouraged on the back of the program on the last match of the season in the early 80's.

Did you then think that the club was moronic or has your opinion changed (rightly) with the times maybe?

You are are one of the most educated and long term fans on here so genuinely interested in the change of attitude towards it over the years.

In those years it wasn’t illegal and clubs didn’t get fined for it.

Would imagine they are down to the bare bones ecause of all of the decapitations that have occurred.

That might just be the post of the season, but you lose points for missing the b off because.

Watching the match at home

Just reading back on the comments by Jacko and Swanny telling me to get a ST to get a ticket after I spent ages online trying to get one.

Never mind eh...

Never told you to get a season ticket.

Lots of empty seats

Courtesy of Swanny and Jacko

But I'm not bitter...

Empty seats nowt to do with me or Swanny. Blame the Safety Committee.

Can’t believe the bottle jobs have closed off up the saddlers to members only. Was really looking forward to having a read.

Thank god we were already up is all I’ll say!! Bloody awful game and was just waiting for us to do something, anything to get a party atmosphere going. Never mind on to next season. Well done to all involved.

Don't ever want to see Harper in a Vale shirt again.

Spot on.

All this talk about fans going on pitch at Bradford /Bristol City doesn't it apply to them.

Vale players told not to perform as the Vale support would have all gone on .

They diluted it that much ,the players also had to get involved ,so in the end  decided they couldn't play at there maximum, and Gillingham were told  they were going win ,as Vale didn't want any  fans on pitch ,which if Gillingham win would be the case  so a farce really, not that it matters that 5000 never be seen again and Vale are already promoted so the regulars won't generally care .

Looked to me like that  was the case .

Thats what final whistle I went home I thought what's this .

Vale were defo playing within themselves ,even managed give them a undeserved goal .

I say what I see .

UTV

Hope the alcohol is giving folk a great celebration tonight ,watching it sober was not a glorious  sight .

Nice see some folk I ain't seen for years,

That's why folk are annoyed and so they should be .

Our performance levels leading up to today could have got us the kind of numbers we need coming into VP next season going up substantially after today well it's a damp squib

Atmosphere was average to say the least

We never  got going but the if we had it had of being a sea of black  and white on pitch at end of game .

Enjoy your night see you next season bar last game I f--king hate them .

Does  conner Ripley have to crawl

up to Burslem for his medal

Absolutely crap again. It really is terrible for my mental health watching Port Vale under this management regime and I would urge Carol and the club to look at this as a matter of urgency over the coming days. They've restored us to where we were when they were given the reigns, fair enough, but let's shake hands, thank people for their work and move on. We cannot move into League One like this. We cannot.

They're puddled as well if you ask me. I know that you didn't.

Always considered the title a nice to have rather than anything else but fair play to Donny. To have sealed it with that run-in is some going.

All a little flat in the end. Was hoping we’d get a goal to celebrate but something Ainsworth sides are good at is seeing games out when they have a lead. Job done getting back to L1 anyway.

We are up! Enjoy!👍👏
