It’s on Moore to recruit and coach and set the game plan. If we continue to have a poor attacking game plan it matters little who we bring in. 

We are creating chances.  The game plan will be to take those chances when they arrive.  We’ve missed some sitters.  In fact Tolaj was as guilty as anyone else in this regard.

A couple of Bristol City fans have mentioned Sinclair Armstrong coming to Vale. Strong, lightning quick, can't finish his dinner, but is "a lovely lad" apparently. He sounds exactly like the kind of striker we'd be signing.

Isn't that just because Gab Sutton suggested he'd be a decent signing for us, without any ITK insight?

If we sign a striker it'll probably be Cole. We're still getting linked from the Baggies' end. 

I'm not sure what I think but do find myself perplexed at people demanding an experienced, League 1-proven striker, and then turning their nose up at a lad with 18 and 15 in his last two seasons at the level.

I've got Gab blocked as he gets on my <ovf censored>, so I'd not seen that. Agree with you about Cole. If we want a League 1 goalscorer, he is exactly that. We won't get any resale value, but he will come in and score goals, which should keep us in the league.

Just give him 12 tap-ins so he can clock off in March, stop being silly billys in defence, and we stay up comfortably.

We're sort of very close to being competent but the last two pieces of the puzzle are so important we'll implode if we don't sort it. Infuriating.

My wife is a Bristol city fan so have seen a bit of him. Kind of an uche regen unfortunately and not at all an accomplished finisher. No idea how they spent £2.5m on him.

Appreciate that I’m fighting the tide of opinion here, also appreciate that stats on chances created do not bear out my viewpoint, but I’m gonna say it anyway, I honestly think we have goals in this team, I like Mo, Stockley, Brown and Paton. My jury is out on Waine. It seems to me we are just missing that link to the forwards. We have supposed embarrassment of riches in the middle of the park and yet no real link to the forwards. We rely on wingbacks to do a lot of the heavy lifting going forwards and the midfield seem to be defensive in mindset. A fully fit Garrity may solve this conundrum or play Rico, please play Rico. Think DM should accept that 3 cb’s, 2 wing backs and 2 defensive minds in the middle is too cautious. Play to win not keep a clean sheet and I think we will be right. 

People keep going on about Vale should have had a plan in place to replace Tolaj if he left in the transfer window. Very true they should have. However it doesn't matter how many plans you have in place, if a player doesn't want to sign for you the deal isn't going to happen. We could have been approaching quality strikers for the last 3 weeks but kept getting knocked back, due to better offers or players just not fancying going to Vale. But we will never really know.

We are not a bad footballing team and have not been badly beaten by any other team .I believe we just need one maybe two strikers to put our good football in to goals scored not missed . We will then have strikers in and injured strikers to come back making us stronger .This stronger team for the rest of the season will cater better for any injury and suspension . We cannot afford to wait and play catch-up once strikers get fit as we have to compete . Tomorrow at 7pm should give us a better idea of do we struggle and get relegated or actually thrive .Surely , we do not want another relegation season where the obvious failures are ignored again.
