MK Dons tweeting that they have caught a big one

If it's Paterson that's a massive deal for them and shows what they must be paying if he drops to league 2

Paterson announced. Or is it Patterson, Pattinson or Pattison for the pedants ?

Unbelievable signing.

It is. They really should be pissing the league this season. Massive outlay on players this summer.

They signed some really good players last season yet when we played them both times they looked awful and well and truly flopped by finishing a very disappointing 19th. If they don't win the league with the players that they have got this season then something is seriously wrong.

Never really seen what attracts investors to MKD that allows them to make the signings they do, they’re hardly a sleeping giant, a population bigger than Stoke-on-Trent but they’ve never attracted the kind of gates the likes of us or Sjoke have that might suggest an untapped fan base. They can obviously sell the dream to players based on who they’ve signed in close season and they've a good manager too, but how sustainable their business model is remains to be seen - another Wrexham? Maybe, but at least Wrexham have a football legacy whereas Milton Keynes has essentially been a commuter town for the big London clubs (and Man Utd 😉).

Warne has certainly been massively backed and as you say they should walk it

They have a very good manager now imo and that will make a big difference

MK Dons must be paying some serious wonga to get Callum Patterson ahead of Oxford United.

Paul Warne following the Darren Moore playbook - fill the team with as many L1 players as possible.

MK always go for it but they are also always <ovf censored>

I think out of all the clubs MK Dons underachieve the most but they shouldn't this season.

Just checked our loans from last season and Cover was 7th August and then three more all on the 30th August.

The right way to do it. Build your squad then supplement with loans. Previous seasons we have done the opposite

Do hope our supplemental loans are a bit better than last year. Gutting to lose an Arblaster or Devine midway but if somebody can come in and make an impact it's something that benefits us and we can look to as the player grows in their career too. Bit naff if they just warm the bench to come on for the last 5 or 10 like Umolu tended to 😄

They do get slightly more than us when doing well. Milton Keynes is quite a lot smaller than the conurbation of Stoke as it includes Kidsgrove and Newcastle.  Purely from a long-term investment perspective I do get it. It's a growing city in a relatively wealthy part of the country. If you look at a club like Reading as a precedent they've managed to grow a fan base in an expanding urban area with increasing wealth. There has been a gradual shift in football towards the wealthier parts of the country since the inception of professional football, which was originally very much based from Birmingham to the North West along what is now the M6 corridor initially.  The North East and south of Birmingham remained amateur.

I think it is yes, he was crap for half the season, just ran about and then impressed under the new manager. My burton mate wasn’t overly impressed with him, personally think Tolaj is streets ahead of him

Was he crap or was he played out of position?
