Looks like the Only ‘unknown’ is the trialist keeper at the open training session this afternoon. Hopefully club will post better photos than me.

 

Dom Telford signed for Gateshead - only 28.  Could have sworn he was being sold on hear as a break the bank/ guarantees goals a couple of years ago!

Yeah - Dom Telford and Cole Stockton were really hot properties for a season; both not done much since - presume Cole Stockton is still at Salford

Certainly felt like any interest we might have had (if any) cooled some time ago given that triallist keeper has had a very extended look now but Marschall to Stevenage it seems

I think it is yes, he was crap for half the season, just ran about and then impressed under the new manager. My burton mate wasn’t overly impressed with him, personally think Tolaj is streets ahead of him

He was very good at Newport who played to his strengths. He had us on toast 4 years ago. His best spells for scoring goals were at Newport,  where he played as a lone striker, and Crawley where James Tilley who was more of a winger played as more of a 10 behind him. He's struggled when he's played off a big striker in a 2. I think he'd still be a good player for an EFL team built around how he plays. I think clubs have just looked at his goals and thought he'd score regardless of how they play. I believe he was a player we looked at but Clarke decided wasn't a player who would do well in our system 3 years ago. His demise is to a degree self-inflicted.  He would have had a choice of clubs post Newport and should probably have looked at his own strengths and how each team played.

I've seen nothing of the alleged Marosi horror show on Saturday. We have 2 experienced league 1 keepers on the books. Marosi was highly rated at Shrewsbury,  although his kicking was a known weakness.  Unless Amos was out for the season I never really saw much in the rumour. Always seemed more likely we will sign the trialist from Man Utd as cover for Marosi until Amos is fit. 

It just feels like we are a bit weak in key areas, GK/striker. Nothing I’ve seen in pre-season has made me think we won’t finish any higher than 18th.
