Perhaps we're reinvesting some of the money from the lad who went from Villa to Citeh. Cole seems a solid signing on paper... I've only seen him play twice, so don't know much.

I don't see it happening, though. I think he's going with the striker options we have now.

It's still on the Express and Star website, so there's probably something in it, even if only talks.

I don't know from where anyone has had talk of £200K transfer fee, as he was signed as a free agent by WBA.

I'd have thought it more likely that Vale would be asking WBA to cover some of his wages for the coming season.

Just thinking out loud but last year Stockley/Curtiss/Byers were considered marquee signings and this year certainly with having Championship experience then Humphries and Gabriel could be considered marquee signings along with Shipley in terms of quality.

Both Stockley and Curtiss can be considerd quality league 1 players having also Championship experience while the club paid money for both Tolaj and Paton who have good goal scoring records while Waine and Rico add genuine pace upfront.

In midfield Croasdale and Ojo are obviously defensive midfielders and Byers and Shipley as playmakers while Garrity and Walters are both exceptional outstanding talents....to think last year Walters had no pre-season and was without a club for half the season but this year the lad will have a full pre-season and is a year older.

Apart from maybe an  U21 loan player can't see the club signing anybody now as unless anyone leaves the squad is full

Looking at it, this latest rumour doesn't appear to be started by Twitter folk. 

There's a report in the Reading press (link below) that mentions Vale as a candidate for Cole's signature. 

This seems to be the original source (i.e. a local journalist) and the Twitter accounts have picked up the story (rather than created it themselves)

He scored 33 goals in 90 appearances when he was last in League One.

You can see why someone like West Brom took a gamble on him on a free transfer

It took Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford etc  years to grow their system, Carol needs a bit more time

Not so sure Osh. Fair enough assessment although doing Stockley a disservice. 

General consensus amongst most Vloggers and all the bookies is that we'll struggle. 

Personally think we'll be okay.
