With due respect, can we keep on topic. 

I'm happy to deal with any concerns/questions/feedback on the site but please post them in the appropriate section and don't take existing threads off on a tangent. 

There's a dedicated section for OVF site matters called "Comments and announcements - OVF announcements plus your comments and corrections..."

I appreciate not all posts are going to be spot on subject (and we usually let the odd one or two off) but I'm writing this because when it gets to half a dozen or more posts off-topic it can be annoying and confusing for other readers who are on here to discuss transfer rumours.

Back on topic (a bit), seeing John playing centre back makes me think he's not going to be a wing back in the system we're likely to play, but also Humphreys playing in midfield (where he has played for Rotherham) makes me think we've trying to cover the centre back gap with a couple of versatile players. 

Unless any new arrivals come I think John, Debrah, Hall might be our first choice back three on opening day, with Humphreys able to cover defence and midfield.

It also might mean we could divert extra cash into a good loan for a striker?

I’m guessing that we still have a few irons in fires despite the official line that all contracted players are part of the squad. The absence of Ojo, not only from the friendlies but also from all pics suggests that he’ll be on his bike - and there may be others too. It’s probably a case of domino effect - when one move slots in, then others may yet be triggered.

I myself think that funso is at the wrong age to cope with league one football now,but he could do a job for a team in league two,but that's just my opinion 🤔

I can understand our desire for another striker, even a top loan one. This is a tough and ruthless business and what seems like a good idea might cause problems down the line. We could get a reputation for having players in and don't get a regular place. Premier sides will want their players on the pitch, not warming the bench. If we get someone in that is a straight in player, will this cause Stockley and or Tol to think they want out to get regular football. Then the loan goes back to club and we have lost what would be our regulars. Not saying we shouldn't go and look but it's a fine balance to get it right.

It looks like it could be Cardiff,Walsall and Crawley who have activated the release clause for Flint Towns Isaac Lee according to FLW which has been pretty good of late

I think we ar evoking to struggle to offload him as he is on a good wage and will have to make a substantial drop based on his age and recent form and performance. Not sure there is a club out there that will match what he believes he is worth. He probably wants paying off in an ideal world.

if he is still here post August transfer window then we may decide to use him, but very much doubt it.
