Just seen ex Vale defender Sammy Robinson has signed for Buxton. Always one who divided opinion but judging by the level he ended up at one the management got right when they released him.

Never got how he divided opinion.

Should of been unanimous, a garbage liability headless chicken.

My mate who is a Kidderminster fan was disappointed that they couldn't hang on to him after 6 months playing for them. He was a steady defender.

Not in League one he wasn't mate. Horrendous player.

Anyway 9 days till Newcastle Town, got be on the cusp of a couple more additions you'd expect.

Wasn't he supposed to be our "upgrade" on James Gibbons?

The more you think back to our Flitcroft era the more you realise once we got out of League Two we were a shambles.

He was never really put forward as an upgrade. He was announced as one with the potential to develop. He played really well at centrehalf in an away game (maybe Exeter) towards the end of his time with us. He was Hereford's player of the year last season but wanted to move closer to home. He's still relatively young, and definitely had talent - though very raw. It's not inconceivable he could work his way back into league football.

Just as a comparison, when we last went into League One our wing back options were David Worrall and Sammy Robinson on the right, and Mal Benning and Liam McCarron on the left.

Now it’s Jordan Gabriel and Mitch Clark, and Jaheim Headley and Liam Gordon, seems a lot stronger to me.

Yep. Only one of those lot you might want in this squad would be Worrall from that time so definitely. Just brought great qualities even if physically wouldn’t fit us now.

Have a lot more confidence in this lot of players that we have this time over the previous season we were in L1.

Tom Pett 2 year deal with Oldham.  Pleased for him.

He's done really well. Must be looking after himself well.

I genuinely thought he was on his way out when he left us! 😊

I wonder where James Plant fits in with Moore's plans.

Seems to have played wingback at Yeovil, and did well, but we're stacked in that position.

I'd like to see him given a chance upfront in his natural position. He's still only 20.

I like him. Works hard. Physically good. Has pace.

Defender Conor Keeley from Drogheada 250k a rumour on Twitter

Sammy Robinson was an odd one at times, when we drew Wycombe away he tore them to bits and their fans were all over social media wanting them to sign him! Same after Sheffield Wednesday away where he gave their full back a torrid time but never did it consistently and defensively wasn't ideal, probably would have been better as a winger, certainly had something there but doesn't seem to have put in together consistently enough to make it as a league defender.

Still not heard anything about the lad we took on loan from Wolves, felt he was signed with a view to the following season as he never played and that was indicated at the time we signed him.

My guess is he was mainly signed because Dan Ashworth is friends with Darren Moore. I suspect wolves carried on paying his wages.

Loan deals tend to be sorted out later on in pre-season. Lewis Cass on 12 July is the earliest one in the last few years

Interesting rumour, lot of money for someone who's only played 2-3 seasons at League of Ireland level and at 27.  It's a really poor standard compared to even our lower leagues, probably national league at best for the most part.

Would be a big gamble, obviously signings like that can come off but Shrewsbury have signed 3 or 4 from over there the last few seasons and none have really come off at league one level.

Fleetwood also have some sort of a link as they have a few Irish players but tend to sign them a lot younger in the hope they'll improve
