Summer transfer rumours and speculation

That’s a hell of a lot of signings in such a short timeframe.

To be fair the vast majority were 19 year olds for the under 21s. Foreign contacts and Academy knowledge are probably where he can add value.

At least this guy's got a bit of a track record in recruitment, unlike the flick.

Albeit his track record is sketchy, hated by Hull and Stoke fans, but seems to have done some ok business at each.

Good people will thrive in a positive working environment- he's got every chance to succeed at Vale so good luck to him 👍👍

Do we really need a recruitment chief? Last one was a disaster, why can’t dm do it?

I think most of them just bring in a lot of players and hope a couple do well

We've had a recruitment team all along. They just source out potential signings and Darren decides ultimately. Before, Flitcroft was signing the players.

DOF and recruitment is the difference. DM will have advice, like scouting.

He cannot do it all. His main concern will be the players we have.

Nathan Lowe - it’s a battle between Huddersfield and Wycombe for him apparently

Bit like a battle in War of the Roses, unsure where they will meet, maybe Warwick? Bypass St Albans.

We’ve not had a Head of Recruitment before.

Flitcroft’s remit was huge - he led on signings but also all the staffing, sports science, budgets, ‘T-Zone’, and the overarching ‘philosophy’ of the club. He was absolutely crap at it and was obsessed in big ideas whilst ignoring the nuts and bolts, hence us chatting about oxygen chambers when we didn’t have a striker.

This new fella is just a chief scout with a new name. He will be heavily involved in the signing of players, but his remit will stop there. Moore has a lot to do day to day and someone to assist with signings is what any functioning club should have in League 1.

Lower Slaughter near Cheltenham, is probably best for both.

Preferred Upper Slaughter.

Personally think it was a bit of a one off. He's not particularly big or fast, so not sure what he would bring to the party in league 1.

Have you watched him play a few times?
