Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Featured Replies

He's obviously got an eye for a goal, he's proved that in half a season at Walsall. He's gotta go league one, to find his level, if Stoke not willing to play him or use him as a substitute that is.

Nathan Lowe - it’s a battle between Huddersfield and Wycombe for him apparently

Personally think it was a bit of a one off. He's not particularly big or fast, so not sure what he would bring to the party in league 1.

Good instinct in front of goal, gets chances and puts them away. Personally I think he’s a decent player - not big or fast though

I agree with you it a small lad not particularly fast and it could be a one off  however he is a proper fox in the box. Always on the move in the box - that’s how he scored so many goals.

Difficult to teach that.

Rather have David Lowe, although he must be older than me. 🙂

Hard for young strikers, Kane found that out. Good loan and look how ,he has done. Even Delap has done well after getting stronger.

Bit like some of our younger players, NS obv his loan to Torquay was good for him, then, all the games he played after.

So perhaps a few will go on loan.

Tough to predict with no age the standard they become.

I have no idea who we will target. Young or experienced?

Nathan Lowe is 6 ft 4 ins at just 19 years old, so I'm not sure what you are saying counts as "big"?

And he looks as fast as he needs to be, at least on his highlights clips.

However, I think it highly unlikely that the SCFC hierarchy would lend him across the city.

Big Ade Akinfenwa was very slow but it never stopped him scoring a hatful of goals over many seasons. He just knew where to be at the right time. Lowe seemed to have that knack last season in L2. At such a young age he can only get better too.

Being totally honest I would happily have him with us, be decent back up/competition for our forwards, scores goals, tall lad and we get a decent striker and Sjoke know we have a reputation of really looking after young loan players WIN-WIN really as long as you dont build a side around him and have him as an option ala Arblaster/Devine again.

I would never want him with us as it would be benefitting Stoke City FC and I really don’t like that.

If he’s benefitting Vale with his goals, I’m not bothered that it benefits Stoke at the same time.

Its a pointless argument anyway because he won’t be coming here

There is nothing we could do that would stop the basket case of Stoke from screwing up their recruitment and season. They've been doing a fantastic job of it themselves, underperforming for years since dropping to the Championship.

They won't reverse that in a single season under Robins.

But as @Brian Johnson says, pointless argument I think because I can't see Stoke sending us Lowe or even Tezgel..

I do think we will get a striker in on loan though, they cost a pretty penny and we will likely bring one in permanent and one in on loan to get enough competition for Tolaj and Stockley.

Plenty of time for the loan market just yet.

I cant see Bradford signing Matty Pearson now as was rumoured because they have just signed another CB from Kilmarnock

It's 2025, not the 90s.

We absolutely need a recruitment person to focus on that and work with DM.

DM is still a manager who gets final say -- he's not head coach being told to make do with whatever disaster crap DF comes up with.
