Would love to see that line up mate! Flat back 4, one holding midfielder & a front 5. We can dream 😂

                        Amos

     John     Smith       Hall    Clark

                     Croasdale

              Walters         Byers

                       Chislett

              Stockley        Tolaj

Broome. Sang. Debrah. Harper. Rico. Curtis. Hackford

1-0 Vale. Chiz ️

I’m sure it’s sacrilegious to suggest a 442 in 2025:

Amos

John Smith Hall Clark

Rico Croasdale Walters Curtis

Tolaj Stockley

I think the issue with a back four is only Smudge looks remotely comfortable in one, plus we still have no natural full backs apart from Kyle John, which was an issue last year too (Mitch is a much better wing back than full back).

Debrah is quick but doesn't read the game well, Hall reads the game but isn't quick enough. Sang couldn't play centre back in a four and neither could John. God help us if Sam Hart ended up there.

I reckon it'll be something like this:

Amos

Sang Smith Hall

Clark Chislett Croasdale Richards Shorrock

Stockley Tolaj

Who does have pace?

This season have seen Stockley, Chislett, Garitty...  clear of the last defender and running at goal, but getting caught or turning back to look for support. Curtis giving up on chasing back. Harte watching as he jogs in the wake of an opposition player... And no doubt you can remember further examples.

Harper is reasonably quick I think...

Looked like he was running through treacle when clean through at Swindon.

I prefer Tolaj at 10 and Curtis upfront with Stockley. They’ve never played together as a 2. Then Chizzy and Richards either side of Tolaj.

I definitely agree it’s time for 4 at the back and 1 holding midfielder.

It would be nice to see us start in aggressive, attacking formation for each of the 3 upcoming home games and not be deterred if it’s 0-0 at HT on Saturday.

I think we’ll see a big response on Saturday as Moore can surely see us slipping back into Grimsby-era form.

Wished I shared your enthusiasm mate, I expect another hard watch.

Can't see him deviating from 5 at the back now we're at the business end, so lots of sideways passing then a hoof from Debbie or Smith.
