Port Vale v Harrogate match thread - 4th March

Featured Replies

I think the centre halfs need to travel more with it. Particularly Hall is receiving it with acres of space in front of him and he's been stopping and looking for a pass. That's when Tolaj has then dropped off. Keep travelling with it. Hall did it once and looked threatening.

Byers walking about without a care in the world.

Frustrating first half.

Confident we win it though, Tolaj will stick one in the onion bag

Goal will come think Harper could have had 2 .

Going score 3 or 4 second half

Tolaj/Curtis are too good for these .

No real alarms at back bit unlucky something hasn't gone in .

Shorrock is ok but we need more from his position .

Overall not too worried a early goal second half will hopefully start a few more going in

8 goal attempts to there 2 .

Crowd is quiet

It's a typical Tues.

A word for Connor Hall run at the heart of there defence you never know it will open up  and smack it  as hard as you can .

Tell him that in changing room

Particularly Shorrock

I think Shorrock has played better than many other game, not brilliant and his crossing has generally been poor but seen him play a lot worse.

Not really. He’s trying to get us to control the game and keep the ball which we have done. Harper is making forward runs and Byers is sitting. Makes sense to me and I think we will find a way through

That’s not their job though. We have 3 midfielders. Would be nice if one of them could get off their arse and show for the ball.

Stupid comment of the night. Surely.

Why is it? Byers on a fortune yet been anonymous and given it away a lot too. People have blinkers on for Shorrock because he’s young and home grown, but he gives the ball away constantly, his crossing is appalling, and he marks himself when playing out from the back. Having said that he’s playing better than Hart did on Saturday.

These are here for the taking.

I've been watching the wrong channel by mistake!!

I think we are playing well. Just that final shot or pass lacks a bit of quality. Confident 3 points are incoming. UTV!!!!

How much is he on?

Watch every time we have a goal kick. Hall stood there with it and there’s literally no options but lump it up, unless he runs the whole length of the pitch himself or Tolaj comes to the halfway line.

Frustrating seems to be the general consensus, I would agree with that players not reading each other, final ball missing, turning back too often hesitating instead of shooting. Tolaj is on it, curtis looks interested harper looks like he's having a good game but shorrock is wasteful and his set pieces have been poor, byers can't seem to impose himself we need mitch to start wanging the ball into the box instead of all this overly fussy to me to you along the touchline or cutting inside then passing it back.

They have put some great balls into our box but nobody is there to supply the finish but we certainly can't be complacent.

We need the same amount of possession we had at the start but do better with it. One goal might settle us so hopefully we score early then go for goals.

Tuesday night curse?

Chizzy should be on for Harper second half.

Get the ball up the field quicker and with Curtis Tolaj and Chizz taking their central defenders walkabouts will create space.

Sounds like the shunters have lost a player to a horrific injury.  Hope its not as bad as it sounds.

Come on Vale, need that first goal from the start and build on it.  The longer it goes, more nervous us fans will get as its a Tuesday match.
