Chesterfield v Port Vale match thread - 25th Jan

Featured Replies

2 points dropped for me.

Thought we looked good with 11 men just not clinical enough.

Never a straight red card that foul. Utterly ridiculous decision from the ref who was very poor all game.

Defended well with 10. Despite all the possession I never felt like they really threatened our goal.

Feel for Sang. He did well when he came on bar his glaring error.

Headley MOTM thought he was excellent.

Need to win at Colchester then it’s a decent point.

Hung on for dear life against a side who are poor and have many players out injured.

Chesterfield had 17 shots to our 6 and 75% possession to our 25%.
And you all wax lyrical about how great it is and a great point???!!

I give up,

It was yet again another Darren Moore masterclass of being totally clueless when we lead a football match. His only tactic is to defend a one goal lead. Inevitably it mainly comes back to haunt us. We should be walking this league with the attacking players we have.

Everyone enjoy your Saturday night and if you’re happy with that non attacking garbage display again, then good on you.

A lot of people on here are in for a huge wake up call in about 3 months time.

Based on today I think that’s harsh. We had an attacking threat in the first half. Went down to ten and kept two strikers on

Yeah decent point but , I'm hoping Darren doesn't stick Sang in at RWB in place of Clark next Saturday cos that wud be an absolute disaster anyway UTV

You mean Tuesday? It’ll be Sang or John you’d think. Should have kept Cover for a few more days 😅

The manager  not brin̈ging subs on sitting back .

Cost us you have to get closer to the opposition .

Not impressed with this sitting back mentality.

Just watching highlights that's never a red the ref wants investigating .

Hate refs like that he spoilt the game .

Amos made sone good saves a point about right .

A manager who makes no  attacking subs when we ahead surely you bring on byers as soon as Clark sent off and remove Tolaj and Stockley and bring on C Palace lad .

There goal Sang crikey that's bad .

Overall I'm.fuming with the ref he as given them.all the impetus win the game

Cheating <ovf censored>

Only 5 points for safety😄

It always feels like a defeat when you’ve been leading for so long, but 1-1 isn’t a bad result away at Chesterfield. And a few other results went our way…

I really hope you do give up.

Just rewatched the Mitch Clark foul several times.

To the best of my recollection, Mitch Clark had never even been spoken to by the referee before that foul.

Which was a clear foul, and deserved a yellow, but there was no malicious intent and their player carried on with no medical attention at all after rolling around on the floor as though he had had his leg broken.

It had been a good end-to-end game and it was spoiled by yet another posturing incompetent in the guise of a referee.

Well played, lads, in the end a decent result at a ground where we don't often thrive.

On to Tuesday evening at Colchester.

Pick up 3 points there, and this is a good awayday week.

I’m guessing he will put John there and play Sang RCB unless we have any more signings

Cover would be a great replacement. Oh hang on…….

You didn’t say papering over the cracks …

we defended comfortably with 10 men for half a game . 1 mistake cost us.

these were the favourites for the title and we have taken 4 points from them

results went for us as well

settle that tiny trumpet of yours down !

Would have taken 1-1 before so can't complain. Terrible error by Sang who otherwise was excellent when he came on. Without that they wouldn't have scored. Follow this up with a win at Colchester and it's a decent return of points.

Yep…..stupidly kept 2 strikers on. Give Moore credit with his team selection but his failure to make subs to help keep the lead was very poor.

Interesting for Moore to say two points dropped and disappointed. Good, that’s how most of us feel. The players need to wake up, we can’t be making mistakes like this if we want automatic promotion.
