If I had to guess, Vale are desperate for it to be on and are praying it doesn't get as bad as predicted, before a very unpopular 10:30 postponement.

They are going have to change the warning on the scoreboard about beware of flying footballs to beware of flying people, food, debris and the like 🙂

This is farcical.

I would of thought the pitch will be fine but it's the safety of people in and around the ground you would think with the wind etc and plus the farce of a game we have paid to watch

It's pretty stupid to put stuff out like that. Why not just call it off now? Prevents Walsall fans making an unnecessary journey, prevents home fans having to come out, prevents players who have to travel coming in - makes absolutely no sense.

Unless it's going to be on

Watching a game of football in the wind is the worst, it just ruins it as a spectacle. I wouldn’t be too fussed if they called it off today.

The statement itself is fairly vague because it says leave early basically but it’s on “as it stands” and we will post updates in due course which suggests there’s a decent expectation that may change.

Also staff, of which there's hundreds on a match day. Some will be there already.

I keep speculating but the social media man has a lot of autonomy with what he posts - I'm not entirely sure that his tweet is official PVFC line on this. He makes it sounds like it's probably on.

It'll be a stupid decision if it is on. The gane will be a farce and it'll be unsafe for supporters. No one wins apart from the scumbags at Sky who want people to stay at home and watch it instead of going to the game.

Normal winds are part and parcel of it in this country but these are very strong winds with driving rain, not going to be fun to watch at all

No issue at all with the pitch. The only way it will be postponed is the call of the stadium safety officer and probably input from the police. Ref on route from Liverpool but can't image that will be speedie ! 🙃😎

Am I the only one who wants this to go ahead 😂 I get the safety concerns but on a personal level i love watching Vale regardless of the conditions. Yes it won’t be a great game of football but it’s the same for both sides.
