Harrogate v Port Vale match thread - 22nd Oct

Featured Replies

We're playing well. Every chance lose on the break because that's football, but play like that for the next 30ish games and we'll be up there come May.

So one sided it's ridiculous. They've barely got out of their half but we've looked a bit short in the final third. Subs will hopefully make the difference again.

Good game, and a sterling performance from Vale.

Also a tip of the hat to Harrogate, who are right under the cosh but have turned all hands to the pump and are defending really stoutly.

Some good spells & in cruise control to be honest. Knock it up a notch now Vale & this is in the bag. Like to see the start of the Stockley & Paton partnership tonight, thought Ruari has done well so far & Curtis causing a few problems.

We’ve been decent (74% possession!) but not really worked the keeper enough for me, though you could say that’s as much down to their defending as it is us.

Definitely a game for Richards this, he’s capable of unlocking this defence.

We need to be before of our corners as well, other than that one amazing save we haven’t looked that threatening against their big meathead CB’s.

75% possession

75% possession from Vale Madrid.

We’ve battered these. Ideally would’ve scored whilst playing so well. We’ve given them chance to grow back into it. Having said that if we come out like that again, anything less than 3 points is a robbery.

Good half and fair play to Harrogate, they've done a good job that half. Good ref aswell letting it flow.
Only thing we haven't done is score.
Come on lads [emoji120] keep grinding them down.
Think Curtis has been immense that half [emoji283]

Stockley, Richards and Benicio will do the damage for us second half.

Vale controlled the game, unlucky not to be in the lead.

Sockley and BBB or Richards on in the 2nd half will do the trick.

No sucker punches plz.

Need a goal otherwise all the good work is at risk of the dreaded 0-1

Extremely dominant but not creating enough in that final 3rd. Subs will win this

Curtis excellent again.

They’ve defended well, keeper has been fantastic

How he blew up with no injury time there I’ll never know with all of Harrogate’s timewasting. It takes an absolute age to get the game going again every time it goes out for a goal kick as there don’t seem to be any ball boys behind either goal. Then their keeper takes about 4 months to get set for it. Dreary.

Apart from Walsall, other results going our way.

Just need that elusive first goal, and I think we’ll win by 2 or 3.
