Match thread: Port Vale v Swindon Town, 28th Sept

Featured Replies

Garrity is no stranger to starting a season slowly. Last season he came off the bench a couple of times early on in the season, such as the Reading game when he scored the winner.

The football season is a marathon, not a sprint. This applies especially to Ben. II’d be wary of making any presumptions just yet.

Croasdale has many, many qualities, but comfort on the ball is not really one of them. I wouldn't be playing him ahead of Garrity, but if BG is unavailable or playing in a more advanced position, he's a tremendous replacement.

I also don't like the idea of Croasdale-Garrity, unless we're playing exclusively long ball with these two snapping up rebounds (not really the style I want to see, though we have the personnel to do it).

I can sort of understand the Swindon fans being a bit weird this week.

They've got to go back to the venue of perhaps their unhappiest memory. Genuinely, some will have been traumatised. To lose in that fashion, leading both the tie and the shootout, to then lose it and see us win at Wembley like that must have been proper horrendous. Absolute heartbreak. They won't be able to watch the highlights to this day without feeling sick.

Good luck to them. I can genuinely let them off for being a bit peculiar because I'm not sure how I'd handle a defeat like that, after giving it the big 'un before. If they want to invent some war crimes that our fans committed last time, then that's probably what's getting them through the game.

CHUFF EM.....👍😊

That bench is disgustingly good! Into them lads 👊🏻 Looking like a 4-3-1-2 ️

Not sure why Chislett misses out. Scores for fun at this level. One half he Dosent and straight to the bench. For me two of our best players are on the bench. Not sure I would have dropped Deborah either.

Sang is an odd one. Not sure what this will look like.

Gone two up top so it’s either Chiz or Tolaj playing behind as a 10. Plenty of options from the bench to make an impact. Stockley & Hackford could work really well. Come on you cheeky whites!

   Cover       Heneghan    Hall     John

            Sang    Garrity   Byers

              Stockley    Hackford

Assuming like this maybe, possible Sang & Cover swapped around even

Not 5 at the back surely? Looks like Cover RCB

Right Corbs - Im in the Hamil today, so if you are screeching ur ed off, stand at the back with that rowdy lot.

And to the rest of the rowdy lot, just bear in mind poor ole Hoppers - I like to nod off in peace at home matches - thank you 😁👍

I prefer that to 532 Cover RCB. But if that's it then why no Croasdale? Not what I'd go for at all

I think Sang will be right sided centre half seems obvious to me!

I suspect it will be but Sang as right centrehalf.

For me Curtis Croasdale and Chiz would all be starting but hey ho
