Match thread: Port Vale v Swindon Town, 28th Sept

That pitch looks great these days since the investment spent, another beneficial thing done by Carol. Just say'in, beautiful ball how did he miss that ffs.

Ah so close. Beautiful cross from Sang. Stockley with his high standards should have backed himself get on the end of that.

Poor this now, tempo really dropped off. These are rubbish, really would be disappointing if we don’t win today. I’m sorry, but you can’t play Garrity in this system, need Chiz or Cro.

Everything but the end product.

Come on Vale, let's have the first goal.

Agreed. And Curtis with his delivery

No end product today. These are awful, we have to win today. Not sure what Hackford offers at all. I would certainly take him off. Not sure a back 5 is required either. I’d potentially look at bringing Sang and Hackford off for Chis and Curtis

Good half from Vale that. Been the better side but just need the goals to show for it now.

These are the games where we need to be punishing teams. Swindon have been awful first half, there for the taking. Tolaj so frustrating, he's like Bambi on ice & his touch is so bad. But then he has good moments too.

Games there for the taking.

Some good spells that half & with the firepower of Chiz, Curtis & Paton to bring on its a matter of time. Keep going Vale 💪🏻

Let's stay positive. Feel Curtis will change this along with Paton.

Not an awful lot wrong with that first half. Swindon have come for a point and aren't showing any ambition. Would bring Curtis or Chislett on for Hackford who hasn't offered much at all and play Tolaj alongside Stockley.

Still think we'll win 2-0.

It’s an ok watch but the overall quality isn’t great. We’ve bossed it, Swindon are very poor and have offered nothing, but bar a couple of flashes of really quick play between Byers and John, it’s felt hard work at times and a bit like Accie, feels like we are too often just hoping something will drop. Plus, we really need a right back (or a left back so John can play in his proper position). A top-three side would be three up against these now.

Vale had so many good chances but couldn't put any of 'em away, game screaming out for an out and out winger.

Byers majestic, Cover looks really athletic and Stockley, Tolaj and everyone else working their socks off.

I'd get Hackford off and either Curtis or Chizzy or Paton  on for starters.

Wiltshire commentator is of the opinion, that there is no-one in the Vale midfield with any real technical ability.

2-1 Curtis & Stockley
