It’s a game of opinions, but I think it’s a massive disservice to say he’s only been ok in the past. I also don’t think he should be moved on either. Let’s say next season we sign some better centre halves and we need to make a change during the game… if we’re bringing on the yak people would be crying out instead for a player like smith to come on. Some people don’t know what’s in front of them sometimes. He still has a year on his deal too.

Hes been dire this season and the goal against Lincoln (and others) arent defendable. I know what you’re saying, he’s done well in league 2 previously ect. But I can’t remember us defending well for years, I just want a fresh start to be honest. He will do a decent enough job in league 2, not doubting that, I just want a change. Maybe let him see his year out as back up. Not as a starter. Hes been absolutely dire this season.

I wouldn’t go as far as moving on mate. More than capable in league 2 providing we don’t continue to piss about with it at the back. If & it’s a big if we manage to get back up then I’d be in agreement with you. That’s his level he’s simply not good enough for league 1 tho like many of this squad

Thats completely true. I’ve just had enough of watching him to be honest, I’d prefer us to move him on / keep as back up and start a fresh. I’d happily see them all move on bar garrity and chislett, don’t mind Ripley either

DM said he was pleased with the clean sheet 2day and the erm incredible support from the  fans and rest assured the erm  rebuilding  process is already underway

Let's see what happens

It was dreadful today what the hell. Fan behind me in the railway stand screaming "come on! I'm <ovf censored> bored" 😄

Mate and I considering next season still and hoping it's more competitive, but today wasn't pleasing one iota.

Agreed, loved gibbo when he was at the Vale but he was utter gash today! Can’t imagine he’s the type to listen to instructions 😆 just think it was a poor performance. Shadow of the player we once had

I thought it was a really mature performance from Gibbo. He had no need to go bombing on. They needed 1 point and got it pretty comfortably. He spent most of the game telling his teammates to slow it down and stay calm.

Yeah I agree with you mate , DM has got to recruit well for next season and bin off the dead wood because if he doesn't I think he could be binned off. Carol ,the players who stay the manager and coaching staff owe it to the fans next season to go out there and give us a team we can be proud of  🤨😬

That's the worry Moore likes a 0-0 by looks of it .

I ain't seen any ambition to change formation in games I've seen

Have we come from a goal down under him .

I'm not sure we have .

Port Vale 0

Really sell season tickets that

I’m not one for ex players. But I would have signed Gibbo back in a heartbeat. Should have never let him go

This side would have benefitted 10x from Gibbo and even Benning. But it is what it is.

But I'm one for looking forward, not back - there are plenty of other players out there.

I didn’t rate Benning at all. Thought he struggled in league 2 to be honest and was fully behind letting him go. Shame the replacement was a step down from him though!

Agree. Far bigger problems in that squad than Smudge.  Need some better players around him - preferably a dominant big guy and some pace.  He is a proven League 2 player.

Yak, Jones, Lowe, Debrah as his defensive partners give me far more cause for concern.

Proper full backs / wing backs to reduce the number of crosses coming in will also be a huge benefit.

Love to see Baylee stay as well. Think he could be dangerous next season with his pace & confidence from the latter part of this season. But then again if we get offered some decent money it’s a no brainier to sell & invest elsewhere

Possibly 👍🏻 maybe if we had gone in front we might have seen the Gibbo we were used to one time. Makes sense your post to be fair
