Also, those who are glad to lose a player like Ojo are typical fans who love a player who has great energy and loves a tackle.

We won’t get promoted if we play Garrity and Croasdale as a midfield two. Both good in their own right but lacking balance.

Or just dont ike a player who has downed tools twice in two seasons and didnt want to play for us when his best buddy got the sack. Disliking ojos character doesnt mean we want garrity and croasdale to be the midfield two. Youre making a bit of a straw man there, and are purposely ignoring the other options such as Byers. Id could similarly say that a midfield 2 of garrity and Ojo or croasdale and ojo wont get us promoted.

Is there any proof of him actually downing tools? You could say that about anyone over the past 18 months.

As I’ve said in my previous post, hopefully Byers is the answer.

If Byers is the answer then I won’t be worrying about Ojo.

Just my opinion that Ojo was actually a very decent footballer.

I've just done a quick read on Ojo.

Second half of season slumps and attitude problems are not specific to Port Vale. It's actually staggering how consistent it is. It's pretty much every club - either declining form as the season goes on, or he falls out with someone:

Beerschot: However, he rarely featured in the second half of the 2012–13 season due to injury and a falling out with new manager Jacky Mathijssen

Antwerp: He played eight games at the start of the 2013–14 season before being dropped to the reserves, and, in December Hasselbaink confirmed that Ojo was no longer welcome at the Bosuilstadion after being unwilling to play for the youth team.[15]

Dordrecht: He had struggled with his ankle injury since the start of the campaign, which would prove to be a poor one for the club as Ernie Brandts's side would go on to be relegated out of the Eredivisie after finishing in last place.

Willem:  He featured 29 times in the 2016–17 season, though he struggled for form during the latter campaign.

Scunthorpe: Manager Stuart McCall said that injuries and the team's poor form reduced his effectiveness in the 2018–19 season, and after relegation was confirmed Ojo looked to leave Glanford Park

Vale: Poor form in both second half of seasons

He's done it at nearly every club he's played for.

It feels very football manager ATM where we are just signing players because we can.

The signing of a striker on loan is properly random. We have so many. I want to see tolaj and Dipepa play games and develop. I want to see Ruari and Stockley

We literally saw it. What proof would be acceptable to, a signed confession from Ojo himself?

Im not arguing that hes a bad player. Im arguing he has a bad attitude and likely doesnt want to play for us.

If true, fair enough.

I have no attachment to Ojo and couldn’t care less if he’s with us or not, if we gain promotion.

I just thought he was a good footballer.

Football is about opinions. Makes me laugh the vitriol spouted on here. Not by you, you’re a decent poster!

Funso Ojo has also, very conveniently, been involved in a pretty awful 4 relegations in 11 seasons. That also includes 3 very near misses with us in 22/23, Wigan in 20/21, and a relegation playoff with Willem II in 16/17.

In the last 11 seasons, he's been relegated or nearly relegated 7 times, and left PVFC, Scunthorpe, Willem, Dordrecht, Antwerp, and Beerschot due to either declining second half of season form/falling out with managers. He was also fined £400 for punching a Dundee Utd fan in 2022.

Am I supposed to be concerned he's gone? An absolute car crash.

What now for Lowe, Plant, Shorrock, Dipepa, Jones, Grant et al?

Surely we haven’t kept them all. Few of the young lads have hopefully been loaned out.

Are you saying he’s an absolute Jonah? An albatross around the neck of any club he signs for? An unlucky charm?

Personally I’m not surprised he’s gone. His attitude last season for DM was a shocker and as a new manager why would he keep a player like that? Also at his age he’s got to play and he isn’t probably going to with us.

Birmingham break the league one 1 transfer fee with a whopping 10 mill. Mental

I'm glad Ojo has gone.
He typified everything that was wrong with last year's squad.
He's downed tools when we needed him the most the last 2 seasons ( for different managers)
He has no fight and won't be missed by me.

That is a bizarre post. Garrity and Croasdale both with recent League 2 promotions on their CV and both very much key players in said promotions, yet a pairing of the two are not capable of achieving promotion.  And yeah I do want my central midfielders liking a tackle and having high energy levels. Do you prefer someone who ambles around and pulls out of tackles?

For what it's worth I don't dislike Ojo but I don't see where he fits in. A decent footballer but doesn't fit into the style Moore will play.

Hmm.
