Summer transfer rumours and speculation

The thing with Ojo is he has the poise of a good player. But when you actually get down to the nitty gritty, he doesn't actually affect any game he plays in. Can anyone remember him playing a decisive pass? Or drifting past someone? He's a comfort zone player. Gets it, plays the simple ball in a stylish manner and everyone thinks he's Pirlo. Croasdale may not look as graceful but has played more importance in 3 games than Ojo has in 2 seasons. His attitude also stinks....he thinks he's better than he is.

I swear some fans don't actually watch a game properly.

When he came to Vale Ojo described himself as a midfield ball winner who won the ball and gave it to others, he isn't a "Pirlo type player" or a player who'd drift past others. He never really played the "Luke Joyce" role of sitting just in front of the defense, Ojo often pushed further forward, linking the play but space was left behind which Lge 1 forwards sometimes exploited.

Ojo scored a few goals from shots outside the box and he did take penalties for a while.

IMHO Croasdale is more of a Luke Joyce type player than Ojo and if Croasdale is gonna start Vale also need a creator in midfield or the creativity has to come from out wide.

My initial thoughts a few weeks ago was that our recruitment was excellent. Now it just seems daft. Far too many players and also signing loan players we don’t need.

Plenty of clubs are promoted from this league with a tight knit squad.

It’s good to have options, and I’d rather this than last season’s mess. But it feels a bit scattershot, unplanned and hoping that something sticks. Fullbacks was a priority for two years now and we still haven’t sorted it. We play one up front and now have five strikers and about 8 attacking midfielders. It’s all a bit strange.

Give the lad a chance I'm.sure he be fine thet have to start somewhere .

Let's keep last year's losers, it doesn't matter who they are, it's DMs job to connect all the new signings and get us winning

What if ojo wanted out .

It's best for all parties can no longer watch a Vale team  ,who's players lie down and die so easily .

Last year's lot in fact since 1st Jan 2023 have not been  at a standard good enough for the Vale faithful

New blood new desire ,new players to encourage ,and rid of players who play when they want too but overall will not be missed .

Or do folk like Vale losing and conceding 3 and 4 most weeks .

Like last week?

And after watching the Barrow game I’d much rather see Ojo in our midfield than a pairing of Garrity and Croasdale.

Hopefully Byers will come good.

These just seem like signings for the sake of signings. Barely a league appearance between them all. Doing well in Premier League 2 means absolutely zilch.

Perhaps we all expected a bit much of Dipepa at 17?

On the flip side though. How many times have we been affected by the dreaded injury bug ? Gone are the days where wilson was out for 2-3, weeks and we had throw the youngsters in the deep end.

I'd imagine a few players will still go out on loan

Also, those who are glad to lose a player like Ojo are typical fans who love a player who has great energy and loves a tackle.

We won’t get promoted if we play Garrity and Croasdale as a midfield two. Both good in their own right but lacking balance.

Ojo is exactly what we need, someone who can sit in front of the back 3 or 4, someone good in possession who can start moves. First half of last season he was our best player, but unfortunately has a poor attitude, but a good manager/ coach should be able to work that. He may well have wanted a leave but if he didn’t then I think it’s a mistake to loan him out.

Fully agree. He’s what our midfield is missing right now. He compliments Garrity and Croasdale.

A few good games, good run of wins and that would have all been forgot about. I’d have liked Moore to have got the best out of him. Especially as he was on our books.

If only there was a good ball-playing midfielder with a 98 point League 1 promotion to his name on the books, ey?!

Here’s hoping!! Like I’ve said, hopefully Byers is the answer. He probably will be, just haven’t seen enough of him.
