This was one of those where half the people thought he said the new captain wasn't at the club and the other half (including myself) thought he didn’t say that specifically. 

I distinctly remember after the meeting thinking it would be Garrity.

Either way, it’s a great call and I’m really pleased.

I think it depends where you live. I live in Endon and it's a great village, with a bit of history, good community and a stones throw from some of the finest countryside you could want for.

I find Cheshire very flat and a bit boring, and the wealth means there's no real sense of community. A bit pretentious. It always feels quite vacuous.

I have a friend who lives south of Manchester. It's a really trendy place but it's very built up, you can't park anywhere and there's very little countryside within a short distance. I'd hate to live there. It's basically rows of old town houses and non descript towns built on crossroads. I always find Manchester a bit oppressive. Birmingham too is generally a dump apart from one or two nicer suburbs.

I have another friend who lives in London, who enjoys it there. He cycles a lot but he says the surrounding countryside of London is not a patch on the Peak District. He would love to move back up to the Staffordshire moorlands somewhere if he could get an equivalent job.

Yes, Burslem has seen better days (it used to be a very prosperous town) and there are other parts as you drive towards Burslem that could do with a real knock down and start again. But it's got a warmth and a community that you don't really get in many other places.

You are more than welcome on this site my friend. Being a Vale fan I’m sure we all have a sneaky favourite in the prem and for me it is Brighton. Tony Bloom is very much like Carol Shanahan, each are owner and first and foremost fan through and through. When the so called big boys are spending millions of Arab money (fairly or not !) it is good to see a true football family being up there and competing. I doubt all would be offered contracts, by DM's interview after talking about mitch clark he said we might have to make do without.

We definitely need cover in both full back positions for me. Someone like Kyle John who can do both would be great. We all know RB is a problem, but if Hart gets injured (or worse doesn’t perform) who else do we have at left back?

Stoke are signing Bosun Lawal from Celtic for £2 million and rising to £3 million.

I really liked this guy in the 2 x games he played for Fleetwood against us last season but I'm surprised that he's going to the Championship and the fee being paid.

Got a feeling that Sang won't be anywhere near as bad as everyone makes it. It's getting a bit silly, at this point.
