I think that’s us done until 2 or 3 move out.

I think KJ is our 20th player over 21 years old, so we can register two more before having to move anyone out.

Keepers don't count - Amos/Ripley - 2

U21s or 21 on Jan 1st 2024 don't count - BDP, Lomax, Shorrock, Davies, Plant, BBB - 6

O21 - Clark, Jones, Heneghan, Hall, Smith, Byers, Garrity, Stockley, Chislett, Curtis, Ojo, Grant, Lowe, Paton, Croasdale, Tolaj, Sang, Debrah, Hart, John - 20

28 players total, 20 required to be registered, of a maximum of 22

In regards to our other trialists, only Sadat Anaku is over 21. Diamond Edwards and David Adewoju aren't so could be signed without a catch. In terms of Edwards, we can have a max of 5 loan players on the team sheet so unlike in previous seasons, we could still bring in quite a few more.

With Lowe, Jones, Sang, Grant etc being registered with squad numbers I think it'll take a deadline day surprise for anyone to move on now, until January at least.

Can see MC being deregistered until January if his injury is as bad as it seems to make more space

In regards to our other trialists, only Sadat Anaku is over 21. Diamond Edwards and David Adewoju aren't so can be freely registered. In terms of Edwards, we can have a max of 5 loan players on the team sheet so unlike in previous seasons, we could still bring in quite a few more.

I get the impression it’s a budget restriction now rather than squad numbers.

I know this is off topic, and I've only posted here because it's the most popular thread. And this is for the ex pats, how do we watch Vale outside of the UK? PVTV are asking for 300 aud a year to watch, which I don't mind paying, but then that doesn't cover me for the SKY matches, been told that Vale have 20 Sky matches the upcoming season. Is this correct? Apparently if I pay for season pass and it's shown on sky I can only listen to the audio

I'm no expert, but so far as I know you won't be able to watch those matches in Australia, unless they're also chosen for international broadcast in your country, through any legal method

That's only Championship matches. League one and two are available to watch unless they are on Sky, then apparently I can only listen to the audio on the sky matches

Where from?

That's what I was saying, if the match is on Sky then you can't watch them legally unless they're also being televised in your specific country

Where from?

Reading between the lines of interviews and body language.

Speaking of squad numbers, I did find it interesting yesterday how 24-27 were left free.

KJ's now been given #24.

3 more in? 🤣👀👀👀

I like the John signing. Admittedly he didn’t play at Everton but kids don’t tend to stick around Prem clubs for 17 years without being able to play a bit. Worth a punt, particularly given Clark injury.

Happy enough with squad and Moore certainly can’t say he hasn’t been backed. Time to start seeing some delivery.

We had Peter Clarke and George pilkington from Everton all them years back and both of them ended up having decent careers so hopefully this guy will too.

A comment on John from an Everton fan website upon his release:

The fullback, now 23 years old, had been a fixture at Under 21 level since he was promoted from the Under 18s in 2019. He has never been sent out on loan.

His natural position is at right back but his versatility has seen him play left back regularly, wide midfield on both flanks and even centre back! Unlike with some players, I would say his versatility has NOT been a hindrance or distraction to his progress. It has only enhanced his value as a player.

As a natural right back, when we have seen some really “poor fits” such as Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey get in the first team ahead of him when first team contenders Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson have been unavailable, he must have known that he had no chance under Sean Dyche.

To be fair to him, he is way more creative and natural in the position than either of those 2 centre backs. He has good pace, lots of energy and stamina and skill-wise he defends reasonably well, finds space, carries the ball at speed and is a good crosser of the ball also. For me, it’s a mystery as to why he didn’t at least get a chance, however the writing was on the wall. Perhaps there is a thought that the jet-heeled Roman Dixon is a better option. I think John could make a living from the game at Football League level and I will keep an eye out for him progressing. He could be “one that gets away” unfortunately.

Welcome Kyle....it's Sausage Fest Friday 😀

Got a feeling that Sang won't be anywhere near as bad as everyone makes it. It's getting a bit silly, at this point.

I don't think Sang is an awful player but I do think he is a terrible defender mainly because he always seems to be out of position and he can't tackle. Defending isn't his forte in my opinion but his delivery is pretty decent we just didn't have anyone to get on the end of anything last season if we had maybe he would have more supporters but I am glad we have signed a right back even an inexperienced one.

I I was only thinking about those two when I saw the announcement; Peter Clarke was an excellent defender and George Pilkington a great servant to the Vale. If he matches George Pilkington Vale will have found a really good player !

Adewoju at 7pm ✍️ Messing hahaha
